Doing my family tree I discovered that my English grandfather had another son who was given up for adoption. We found him and he discovered he had 2 half sisters and half brother. So many secrets.

These are all such amazing people. I am sad for their years of not knowing and the sadness they have felt. So thankful we are living in the DNA age. I knew he was Irish. He looks like my maternal grandmother’s family. She use to talk in a fake Irish accent and sing Irish songs. Her mom’s family was from Ireland. Love from USA. Amazing documentaries! Crying again. Joy!!! Miracles!!!

Love all the reunions Turi King has shown so much more compassion and seems to relate so much more to the guests than it seemed before. Such a scary prospect for guests to reveal their hopes and fears so great that they have so much support from every cast/ team member. I can’t imagine not knowing about your family and braving your soul to strangers and the audience on camera very hopeful and usually uplifting thank you.

I have a sister out there somewhere who was adopted because my grandmother forced a decision between two of my mother's children. It was a time of war,the depression and a different era. My mother told me to leave it alone but I still wonder.

Always wondered about a family rumour , my dad was in France during the war , and when a got back to England he sent money back for quite a while afterwards when we heard about it we thought its child maintenance

When she said “you cant tell where you come from by your look” I yelled at the Video “you’re Trinidadian mate!” And when it turned out his was, I wasn’t surprised at all. Pity there was no reunions for him

Xmas 2025 aged 67 found out my dad was not by biological father, no one to ask has both parents dead. lucky or unlucky within 24 hours through Ancestry DNA worked out who my biological father was and i had a half sister. By New Years day had located her, name address etc but she does not want to know and think that hurts me more.

I absolutely loved the little recap at the end, of how these folks are able to embrace their heritage and newly discovered family members.
