This race isn't about prize money  it's for the chance to say  " I raced the Isle of Man and lived"

Most TT riders don’t get paid. In fact a ot of them lose money racing there. Racing is very expensive. Only the top riders on the roads receive payment. The prize money is also deliberately kept low at the TT as to only attract serious competitors and not those hunting a payday. Most of the riders at the TT are called privateers. Self funded racers from their own funds and sponsorships where they can find it.

The guy at 1:58 laying on his bike was memorising all the corners and places he had to brake. There is no way anyone could do this race without knowing the course like the back of their hand.

It’s not about money it’s about passion and a love for racing motorcycles at the most thrilling race of the year. These guys leave it all out on the track and are fully aware of the consequences if it goes wrong. The average person will never understand the race, or why the riders continue competing even though the risk factor is sky high. It’s funny reading all the comments on here, obviously the majority are non motorcycle people. If you understood the passion for two wheels you would understand the race. All I know is football requires one ball, the TT requires two!!

Clip all of Sophie’s reaction in the video for every thumbnail going forward. 😂😂

Sophie looked scared for them. Loved it!

One of the guys that used to work at the isle of man was on a podcast and one of the riders said to this guy "I'd rather die up in this mountain than not do it. What else am i meant to do?"

Michael Dunlop who was mentioned and was the one who did the burnout at the end, is the classic example of what it takes to keep racing. He has lost his uncle (Joey Dunlop who holds the record of most wins at the TT at 26 and died in Tallinn in Estonia while racing in 2000, 2 weeks after winning his 26th TT), his father (Robert Dunlop, who died at the North West 200 in Northern Ireland in 2008 and Michael won a race at the same event 2 days later) and his brother (William Dunlop, who died racing in  Skerries, Ireland in 2018). After all that Michael still races and won his 25th TT earlier this year to be 1 win behind his Uncle Joey. They hardly get any money for racing the TT, I think if you win all 6 solo races last year for example, I think you got £15,000. They used to get money for the top 6 on each lap but they don't do that anymore as far as I know.

You can't walk if you sever the spine. Not all broken backs sever the spine.

The graveyard is across the road from the grandstand where the races start I live on the Isle of Man 🇮🇲 the Island comes alive for the fortnight of the races x

G with an all timer. “It must be great to have that power between your legs.”

Thank god and the isle of man government that they still do this!!!
The safety people are taking all the fun out of life.

and yesterday Michael Dunlop equalled his Legendary Uncles record of 26 TT wins.

The prize money is not worth risking your life for, it would barely cover your costs.  Yes they do get sponsored.  To date about 240 men have lost their lives.  9 died in one year including members of the public.  I have been a spectator several years and it's amazing to watch , hear and smell.  A biker myself I love every part of it.

That brings a new meaning to "Broke back Mountain"

Statement of the year......."Must be great have that power between ya legs". Ladies, you do! 😂😂😂

I am a marshal in the TT. the video wont show you how good the TT is to watch. Yall should come and watch

Top Prize for winning the senior TT in 2023 was £25,000 pounds. But, with 300 competitors, most have to pay for the privilege of racing in the TT.

This is just,as she commented, for adrenaline junkies. They know they could die but they must do it. Few professional racers dare to do it.

Not sure exactly but I think the winner of the Senior race, if they lead every lap of the race, can win about £18,000.  So not a lot really when you compare that to a footballer for example, and that's the winner. Most competitors get very little or nothing. Race distance is just under 230 miles so it's like you driving from Manchester to London without using motorways and doing it in around an hour and forty minutes!  Absolutely mind blowing
