A note on Rogue Elements
I estimate about 2% of people raise this point in good faith, but the catch-all response to the "why didn't you cover it" question is as follows:
Rogue Elements was covered, briefly, on stream and on this channel on the day it released. I gave some headline thoughts and offered a couple of criticisms, looking mainly at the writing. The reupload of that stream is on the BSUP channel.
I also explained why it wasn't going to get a video. The reasoning comes in 2 parts.
1) It was a fan-funded proof of concept short indie film. I have never covered these on this channel, from anyone. Spiderman Lotus was not covered for the same reason. Shelby Oaks is a studio movie with a theatrical release. These things are self-evidently different in scope, scale, ambition, industry support, expectations, and - frankly - relevance.
2) Reviewing anything made by oneself or a friend is a clear conflict of interest. The majority of people asking this question confirm the point. The motive has nothing to do with the work itself, the motive is doubting my motives.
This would inevitably occur were I to praise any aspect of a friend's work, and were I critical, I could never be critical enough.
George Orwell would refuse to meet anyone whose work he was due to review. The same principle holds here, and applies to anything my friends work on, and anything I work on. I am writing for Judas, so I will not be reviewing Judas, for example. No amount of miserable idiots in a comment section will change my mind on these points. Other people are better placed to make Rogue Elements videos, many have done so.
I don't particularly care if this explanation satisfies the questioners, because they aren't really questioners and they will never be satisfied. This explanation stands simply in order that the point be publicly addressed.
