This reminds me of that one time I skipped multiverse of madness and instead watched a 6 hour breakdown of multiverse of madness.

Why don't you understand the reason behind Lex's hatred for Superman? Just look at Lex's hair and Sup's hair...

"Like a British person on the first day of summer, that is also the last day of summer", too true 😂

1 of the biggest problems with superhero movies is that Ever since endgame Writers think every single superhero movie needs to have world galaxy or a universe threatening plot.

After 4 hours, 39 minutes and 14 seconds, I learned that I want to go watch The Incredibles again.

Just realized that 300 years of super humans means George Washington could’ve had super powers. Insane.

What's funny and unbelievable is the crowd that was RIGHT THERE to gawk at the monster while Supes tries to save them, THEY turn on him right there after a 30 second video pops up on their phone. Could you imagine the little girl Superman saved running up to him and kicking his shin?

I know this is about the actual content of the movie, but I haven’t heard enough talk about the cinematography. I hate it. All the wide-angle lens shots, the tight sets, lack of scale and grand cinematic shots made it feel amateurish and just not…big. I absolutely hate how it was shot.

If only lex knew how easily Superman could be manipulated by name calling

@ChromaticAbberation 1 year ago

I know this is the smallest of potatoes but whoever named it "Luthor Corp" instead of "LexCorp" needs fired. Crazy downgrade.

The first thing that stood out to me that created questions was when superman leave the fortress and flies directly over the engineer lady while she's wearing all black on a white back drop and she's talking to lex. But somehow, the SUPER man with super vision and hearing does not see or hear her. That's only 2 minutes into the movie and it just gets worse from there.

Indeed the major problem of this movie (among many others) is that exposition never stops, and isn't even subtle (seriously, during the first minutes we have a robot explaining to Superman that they don't have emotions, while he has to already know this, given the fact at this moment he has already spent years with them)

Gunn missed a perfect opportunity to really show off Superman's compassion in the last fight with Ultraman. Imagine a scene where after the cameras are desteoyed and Supes beats Ultraman, his clone is cowering and curling up in fear, not wanting to be hurt anymore and not understanding what's going on now that theres no one to direct him.
Supes could reach out his hand and comfort what is basically his biologocal brother, likely the first kindness Ultraman ever received.
From there Ultraman could sacrifice himself to save Clark, or if he survives you could have an after credits scene where clark and Ultraman hang out at the Fortress, and maybe the robots are slowly teaching him to think and learn on his own.

"I used to BE a journalist." is more frightening than anything else I have ever heard or seen on this website.

My biggest letdown for me is the fact that Gunn has no cinematic taste or eye for making... well, movies. We're really, really far from the likes of Spider-Man, Iron Man and the Dark Knight. There are extremely stupid scenes in the movie that devaluate the experience; even when Raimi made comedy, those scenes are still memorable today as memes or actually funny scenes. There's stuff here that shouldn't be here: Bradley Cooper talking to a camera, anticlimactic opening, unnecessary scenes, lack of memorable moments, excessive CGI, forced humour, inconsistent tone, etc... I really feel like Gunn is not the guy for the job here.

The fact that you're digging, looking for holes and pointing out problems says that you're just a Snyder fan, Says every James Gunn fan.

I hate "and I can't stress this enough" hate when we are supposed to know a character based on established lore while also not expecting them to have to stick to the lore because it isn't the same character and this is the most common problem in comic book movies and even infesting the comics themselves, you'll have runs that require that you have read these issues to know what is happening while also completely ignoring events in that book that should affect the narrative now but don't because it isn't in the current book and they don't care. The most obvious example of this in cinema was multiverse of madness which required you to have watched wondervision to know about the darkhold and Wonders children but also to have forgotten that vision had been brought back to life
