32:06 I didn’t get the genius of this scene the first time I watched this movie. And the turmoil with his men when they showed up. He wanted to just have a small moment of civility. And he knew Norman was the only one in his crew not tainted by war yet, that he could have the moment with. Which his men, understandably took offense to.

That line..... Ideals are peaceful, History is violent..... Think that might be my favorite line ever in a movie. It so true.

I really like that you took time to discuss the perspective of the crew in the dinner scene, it actually makes a lot of sense.
Their behavior is not okay but its understandable why they are upset. I think a lot of people watching this movie just hates them and think they're assholes for no reason.

There’s a reason why these men and boys are called the greatest generation.. as for the young ones going into the bedroom… he meant they are both young, let them feel alive in the moment because tomorrow may not happen. It’s actually a sweet thing.

36:14  I think it goes beyond War Daddy being selective with Norman. I think in away he sees that he and the other guys have been in it for so long that they don’t know how to act really civil or anything other than soldiers . In away Norman brings back a small piece of that innocent civilian life/ good nature that they all have forgotten over the war’s duration

My grandfather was a Canadian soldier who volunteered to serve in WWII. He was my hero and the best man I've ever known. He died when I was 12.

My Dad came back with problems and so did my Mom's brother.  Dad was a turret gunner on a B-17 bomber and based in England.  His crew did bombing raids on Normandy and inside France before, during and after the beach landings. He wouldn't  accept any medals or ribbons because he came back and said  those who died were the real heros. He didn't talk about the war very much only rarely.   I used to watch war movies with him and sometimes he would tell me things.  He became an alcoholic. Sargent Roy Lee Clark,  I miss you Daddy!❤️

War Daddy and the crew of fury are actually based on the tank In the Mood,  War Daddy, Lafeyette Pool was a real dude.

This movie is not an accurate portrayal of actual tank warfare. But is a super accurate depiction of the complexity of the soldiers in the war. Their emotions, mind scape and backgrounds. Their motivations and weaknesses. And it’s a super accurate depiction of the bleakness and reality of war damage. Meaning on so many films war is you get shot and die. Or you get dinged and patched up. This shows people burning, legs and arms blown off, the mind dealing with ptsd, people taking their own lives. That’s what war is. The acting here is just off the charts. They all just owned those characters. They became them. So while a lot of people complain about the accuracy of the way they fight, the tactics and such. That is secondary to the mindset and places it takes you emotionally. It is one of the single best depictions of the darkness, moral complexity, and destruction of war. This takes you places. Heroism and brotherhood. Yet also places we are all lucky not to have to go to. Places we can’t even comprehend.
