The whole tipping thing is yet another example of America thinking it's impossible to change something that the rest of the world has already figured out.

It's moments like this where I'm thankful that I can go out to eat without being responsible for paying for my waiters bills

Nobody defends the actions of the rich quite like an American on minimum wage.

£1.58 a hour as a server this is NOT an issue you should bring up with customers. You are hired by the bar, not by the customers. The bar should pay your wage not the customer

This is your hourly pay for your work george

Americans would blame everyone but their oligarch masters

Here is your tip for this video

As a Canadian, this makes no sense. All wait staff get paid minimum wage AND tips. They make $50 an hour on fridays and saturdays. The boss doesn't get to say "Oh they make money in tips so I won't pay them their wage!" that's not how life works in ... a real country... with wage laws. O_o

Go buy yourself a freddo

had to tell my kids they're not getting any dinner tonight

Am I the only person that finds yank culture absolutely alien? It's only the fact that they speak English that we in any way feel connected to them.

I find tipping culture nauseating in that it causes staff to be 100% fake and performative - in the UK when you get good service you know its real in the USA they are just acting

It's astounding how often "greedy staff" or "stingy customers" are the topic of discussion around tips but never the tipped wage law itself. Tipping is only pushed so hard because employees receiving a certain amount in tips entitles employers to pay a poverty wage. Repeal the tipped wage law and aggressive tipping will disappear over night. It's baffling to see service staff fervently defend the boot upon their neck as if their isn't a better way.

Tipping isn't a culture, rather the lack of

there is no difference between a 50$ meal and 100$ meal service wise. so why does my tip increase. it should be fixed to something like 10$

Thank god I'm not American lol

treat yourself mate here’s 7p for every minute of the video

This has to be one of the most dystopian this I've ever seen. I know the US has a tipping "culture" but this is beyond insane. If I ever showed up to a job interview and they told me they're paying 2€ per hour, only 2 other options would come from there, I either give them the biggest insult of their lives or I would simply get out of there without saying a single word. If you want to pay me 2€ per hour, screw you, you do the job yourself

"Some of my coworkers have kids".

Well, if you can't afford them, don't have them.
