A lot the French speak English, they just won't until you attempt to say anything in French. It can work to your advantage. Made a waitress in rural France drop her pretense in not understanding English when she heard how badly I was butchering her language.

Fun fact: I used to work for the Mouse, and believe it or not, there's a legal loophole where they don't have to pay the original creators for re-using their songs/scripts/ect.  So the remakes are indeed an exploitative creation, and it wouldn't surprise me if IP prolonging was another part of the reason.

As someone who works in the copyright industry I can tell you with 100% certainty movie remakes are done to re-up copyright when the movies are 20-25 years old, not just for the movie itself but for the lucrative merchandising as well.

I believe in alive internet theory. Most things you see online that seems unhinged is not bots farming engagement, it's just people being stupid... and possibly farming engagement.

Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd century came out in 1999. The phrase "No shit Sherlock" was in Little Shop of Horrors (1986)

I refuse to believe people that call into radio stations are real. The ones which are like, “Hi my names Barbara from Scunthorpe and it would make my son’s birthday if you played shape of you by Ed Sheeran.” Why wouldn’t they just go on Spotify?

My theory: Dominoes pizza prices outside of the deals are not real and are never meant to be paid, they only set them so high to make the deals seem worth it when actually you’re just paying a normal amount for a takeaway pizza

What really frustrates me with most streaming services, is the fact that they don't let you sort by release date. I WANT TO SEE WHAT HAS JUST COME OUT.

My conspiracy is that my professors all signed a secret pact before the semester to make MY life a living hell.

On popcorn theory: Back when steam trains were a thing there was no such thing as a 2nd Class carriage. There was a 1st Class carriage and a 3rd Class carriage. This was to make people in office jobs pay the high 1st Class carriage prices because they were traveling to work in what was often their only suit and to travel in the 3rd Class carriage risked it getting dirty from all the workmen they would be pressed up against. Train companies sometimes even paid coal dust covered chimney sweeps to go on 3rd Class carriages and sit next to people in a suit, specifically so that person in a suit would travel 1st Class next time.

The bullying story you told was the same for me. I was majorly bullied physically and mentally by other kids because I’m weird and autistic. Telling teachers never really helped, it made the bullying worse and all they got were suspensions each time. I never fought back because I took rules and morals very seriously, until one day I didn’t. After 2 lads pushed me down and started kicking, I think I just snapped, instead of trying to get away, I just embraced my frustration and laid them out like they did with me for so long. I was pretty surprised I was able to do that, being 4ft 7 in late secondary school. I got 3 days isolation (which was just a reward to me 😂) and one of the others got excluded from school. But very few people picked issues with me after, and I was even respected by some of the popular kids for finally standing my own.

I don’t condone violence, I try to be as peaceful and chill as I can with everyone and everything, but sometimes it’s the only way people will back off.

The thing about fighting bullies is a tricky one.
The advice the school always gave is "ignore them and tell an adult" because they are ultimately covering their arses from liability. This is also why they punish both people for fighting, regardless of who the aggressor is. The school don't want people being injured on the premises and risking liability, they don't really care much for what the conflict or dispute was actually about.
The advice my parents always gave was "fight back and they will leave you alone because they just want an easy target", but this isn't great advice either. If you fight back and lose you are not only still an easy target but now they are going to have more of a grudge against you. If you fight back and win it's a short-lived victory, because more often than not you're just going to get jumped by the bully and his posse later out of 'revenge'.

As for why schools seem useless at tackling bullying, the reason I suspect is twofold...
1). It's simply not as easy to resolve as it seems. You have two kids claiming the other 'started it', who do you believe? Each kid gets their friends to vouch for them, who do you believe? It's just not as obvious as it may seem to the victim. Not only that but kids can be surprisingly manipulative and clever. I specifically remember there being kids at my school who would always cry victim and appear meek but in reality they were the ones antagonising people and instigating conflict, but just in less obvious ways. There were also kids who were extremely good at appearing innocent the moment any adults/teachers were around.
2). Parents are a pain in the ass to deal with. No parent ever wants to accept that their child is a little shit, because that often means having to accept that they are shitty parents for having raised them that way. Some parents straight up encourage their child's bullying behaviour (because they are likely bullies themselves) and will fight any attempt from the school to resolve it or punish it.

The vowel shortage! Idk if it goes beyond English but it'a basically that English speaking people are losing the original more phonetic spellings of words through accent change and the vowels are getting replaced with ə, it's called a schwa. it's kinda pronounced like "uh". In Shakespeare's time, the word "musician" was pronounced like "mew-zis-ee-an" whereas now it's more like "mew-zish-un" in most places, for example

Here is my conspiracy theory. Video game companies don't prioritize how well a video game functions before release because they want the consumer to do all the testing for them so they can avoid paying professional video game testers.... Hence why some games have early-release or beta sign-ups.

Essentially, gamers are paying to do now, what professionals got paid to do back then.

Big yes on the last one. Sometimes things branded as spicy arent FLAVORFUL it's just HOT and thats pointless because it's supposed to have-get this- SPICES THAT TASTE GOOD

Jokes on you “baloncesto” is often replaced by “básquetbol”

7:51 Dubai chocolate was actually created because there was an over supply of pistachios in the world now there’s an under supply 😭😭

Conspiracy, George is secretly 6'3 but he walks everywhere on his knees

My conspiracy theory: the GeorgeM we see is an AI and has been for a long time. It's easier to generate an image of someone masked.

Don't forget that many Americans think that just because an actor speaks English like an American, that means that they are American. Many don't realize that the actor/actress are hiding their accent from their home country for that role. I bet there were people that watched every episode of House without knowing that Hugh Laurie is from the UK. That may be part of the reason they think UK actors are ugly. They literally just don't know where many actors are from, so don't take it too hard. There's lots of Americans that think Keanu Reeves is American so they put him in with the good looking American actor category when he's Canadian.
