I love how proud Simon looks whenever he actually gets a movie reference.

My favorite plot twist to the holy grail story is that the last supper was held in a rented room. So they either stole a cup from their Airbnb or they brought their own flatware to a catered dinner.

The holy grail was really the friends we made along the way.

The man from Earth was the movie. He didn't invite his friends, he was trying to leave town before they noticed he wasn't aging. Remarkable movie, worth a watch no matter your religion. Best part is it all takes place in roughly one room.

I think it might be one of my wife's 50 million Coffee cups.

When the grail shows up on antique roadshow because it has been in someone's attic for two thousand years, you'll feel pretty silly Simon!

Not sure I've ever heard Simon thank Nadine for her excellent editing skills...

Thank you, Nadine, for your awesome work!

You should do one on the Ethiopian belief that the Arc of the Covenant is in Axum.

I love Ilsa's scripts. They are usually more mythological episodes and I love seeing all the "evidence" and then systematically debunking all of that with actual history

If I remember the Morte d'Arthur correctly the grail disappears after it's found.

I’d love a Decoding video on the Turin Shroud. It’s got quite a history to it.

It makes me so happy to realize what this actually is. Decoding the Unknown: EPIC BLAZE EDITION!! Fantastic!

The movie Simon is referencing is called The Man From Earth and it's quite good indeed! :D

@GangsterJoey 3 years ago

realistically the holy grail would be a small wooden bowl/ cup used by the people of that time. the chance the holy grail has even a hint of gold in it somewhere is so unlikely you’re better off winning three lotteries in a row.

Simon's wild sarcastic skepticism is even funnier if you consider he went to Christian school

The real holey grail is a Pastafarian relic. It is the colander used to cook the first pasta, which was then eaten with cheeses. (Praise cheeses!)

Hello Simon and Crew, I know a large part of the videos you make is dependent on what your writers want to write about, but I'd really like to see a Decoding The Unknown episode surrounding the theories about Kurt Cobain and his supposedly suspicious death. I think that would be a really interesting topic to hear your takes on.
