That "prosperity gospel" thing is so surreal to me.
I mean, you don't even tried to hide that fact that you are exactly the kinda people that Big J used to beat up with a whip.

"Power corrupts; PowerPoint corrupts absolutely."

Only an hour?  Presumably you have another 2-3 dozen episodes on this topic.

After watching 'not the good girl' for a while. You haven't scratched the surface of the horrendously dodgy mega churches of America

Every time I read an insane story of a historical figure without reliable contemporary sources, I now need to balance "this has to be exaggeration and slander" and "last year, the current president of my country tried to balance the budget by making penguins pay taxes"

My husband and I used to go to Harvest in Elgin. Last time we went, it was Easter weekend and the entire congregation got read a 2 hour riot act for not tithing enough. Jimmy wanted to take his 13th sabbatical to Jerusalem. Never looked back.
Now it makes more sense 😂

Corrupt people seek absolute power.

It takes a lot to be "the worst" in a job Rodrigo Borgia would later do.

When you got a guy in your head saying everything you do is good you get a lot of crazy stuff

To those who wanted more of the infamous ones like Jones or Moon. They have their own episodes already. these are mostly less known ones

"God says its none of your business" lmao

"I preach a sermon 'bout the paper like I'm Creflo Dollar".  50 Cent 2003...

The Lord Acton quotation continues:  "Most powerful men are bad men."

I married a minister who had jealousy issues, cheated openly and lied like a pro. Was he brought to task for his many, many indiscretions?
Surely you jest!  No one suspected a thing.
Seeing the need for sober and appropriate retribution,  I took it upon myself to publish, share and run off hard copies for public perusal. No. Never in my life had I  done such a thing before or since...but it was monumentally satisfying outing him.

I generally let the ads play so you can get paid, but when they're longer than the hour-long video, I kinda have to skip.

I was surprised that Rasputin, Jim Jones, Reverend Moon or Scientologists weren't mentioned. Of course, I realize it would likely take days to list ALL the Religionist Psychopaths in Humanity's Past. Really enjoy all your Programs, Simon. I hope you continue to make many more.

14:09 "Some of Johns behaviour was likely blown out of proportion"  After watching the fall of the American empire for 10 years, I'm inclined to believe every word of his detractors and don't think they went far enough.

Might do this more often and contribute to the Whistleverse.

You also might look at: In 1534, an apocalyptic Anabaptist sect, led by John of Leiden, took power in the Münster rebellion.

Hinn, was definitely using hypnosis. I attended one of his events, in Melbourne, Australia, and he spent the first hour and a half putting the attendees into an intense trancelike state. Only people who paid were allowed anywhere near the stage.

I had my camera there, and was taking numerous photos, and my answers to their questions made it clear to them that I was, "hostile" to Hinn. At one stage, I looked at one of the huge cameras (of the sort used by sports arenas), to see it aimed directly at me. If it were a tank barrel, I could have seen through to the breech.

I also believe that I was followed home, as I did a turn into a quiet dead end street, only to have another car follow me into it, parking me, and quickly exiting it. I then continued on my journey home.

TLDR: Hinn, and many other religious leaders definitely uses hypnotism.
