the fact the entire town held meetings about a high school satan club but literal hell raising from under them can be chalked up to an earthquake

Btw Dustin’s bullies did more damage then the mind flayer.

The lack of moments between Eleven and Max literally made me so pissed off

The final battle was so short I legit thought Vecna was gonna get back up again and immediately off one of the characters while their off guard and round 2 would start

The way I felt NOTHING when Dustin was running up the stairs yelling at Nancy and Jonathan that they were going to die because I knew without a shadow of a doubt that they’d be fine

the nature of humanity is such that every few years someone reinvents the johnlock conspiracy

Them legitimizing a stage play almost no one has seen as a vitally important part of the lore is diabolical ngl. There's so many issues, but this is one of the biggest for me- the upside down, Vecna, and the mind flayer has a new backstory every season and it's so frustrating to try and figure out what's true, what's retconned, and what's just lazy writing.

With what the Duffers have said and the bullshit that happened with BBC Sherlock, I am convinced that when a TV showrunner says "we love fans that pay attention to details, we encourage that" what they actually mean is "we love people who will watch the show multiple times just to see if something out of place and come out with some wild theory as to why that happened, because we can take the credit of setting up something with zero thought behind."

This is probably a little controversial, but in the true spirit of D&D, I think they should have done a TPK.  Total Party Kill, when a boss battle is just too tough and the dice won't roll.  At least of the main kids from season 1.  In the final battle, one by one they get picked off, only Eleven remains, and she realizes the only way to stop Vecna is to sacrifice herself.

Its not a happy ending, but it may have been more satisfying because the stakes were actually high.

The shortest "explanation" for all of this is that this was supposed to be a limited series and they never planned on what multiple seasons would look like. While I mostly had fun with the show, it would've been so cool to watch the first season as a stand alone

I might be a divorce gate believer especially after the duffers went out of their way to break up pretty much every ship on the show

I'm so hyped somebody else finally noticed the whole 'sorcerer' inconsistency, if they wanted to do an homage to dnd they could at least do it correctly and call him a warlock

You do have to admit Stranger Things 5 had a great commentary on mental health. Mike’s schizophrenic, the Duffer Bros had simultaneous lobotomies, they gave the fans mass psychosis…like this is why mental health matters

conformity gate makes me feel like Joyce in season 1, but if she was indeed just going insane

imagine writing such a bad ending everybody convinced themselves it was fake omg 😭🥀

THE DUFFER BROTHERS ARE LIKE PAPA

an important part in divorcegate is that they did not only lose the wife of the duffer (who wrote the fear street movie) but also a lot of co witers bc of the writers strike, which happend after vol 1 of s5 was written. Most of the good episodes like "Dear Billy" or "Sorcerer", were infact NOT written by the Duffers, but instead by Paul Dichter or Caitlyn Schneiderhan or others and this has maybe really hurt the second half of the 5th Season.

Oh no conformitygate is just the secret fourth good episode of Sherlock all over again

"the finale of this extremely popular show that stretched in for roughly a decade didn't make good on the writers' promises about paying attention to details, creating any dramatic tension for the main characters, and queerbaiting the absolute fuck out of the male leads, and it was so bad that fans thought it was bad in purpose in order to set up a secret good extra ep"
Old BBC Sherlock fans, taking a drag off their cigarette: "first time?"

18:50 the fact that none of the characters even got A LITTLE BIT HURT during that final battle. no scratches, wounds, injuries, NOTHING. LIKE HOW
