Don't let what an "adult" is supposed to be stop you from making what you want it to be. If someone is judging you for not "growing up" the right way, that's usually their own insecurities showing through. Maybe liking Barbies as an adult makes them uncomfortable, but that's their problem. You do you.

I don’t remember this movie being so unhinged.. I watched it frequently too lol

lowkey though, if a girl just moved into town with my same birthday AND stole my best friend ON my birthday ripping him from my arm, i would’ve held a bit of a grudge too! especially if she was as annoyingly entitled as abby was 😭

Krista stealing Jay’s wallet and making him look bad in front of the cashier at the store made me so angry as a child lol

Im a zoologist who works with wasps who grew up with this movie. Didnt remember the wasp intro bit at all and watched with a stunned look at my face as the wasps are (correctly) portrayed as only swarming and stinging when provoked. And then my expression became increasingly stunned as the magic lady controls them? Maybe the best portrayal of wasps in any of these movies ever? Treating them neutrally like normal animals. Its awesome. Its such a small thing that noone else cares about but it made me smile.
Also shoutout to them using an actual wasp nest thats appropriately sized for the swarm we're shown instead of the weenie hut jrs baby nest or even beehive that other media uses. A win for people who care about these things everywhere (really just me lol)

8:16 THE WAY U EDITED THIS SCENE TOOK ME OUT I ALMOST CHOKED ON MY NOODLES PLEASE 😭

Lowkey Abby is better  then  bear because she wanted Logan to like her for herself not because of a birthday wish spell

When I was a kid i knew being an adult was miserable and did not understand why some kids wanted to grow up fast

I don't know if you may have seen/heard about it, but this one youtuber, Alex Myers, made an obsession review where he basically said that Abby and Bear were the same because both wished for love. I haven't seen this film in a while, but when I heard that, I immediately called bs. Like most of Abby's wishes were materialistic and the one wish she made about someone else was just to meet that celebrity. And even before she realizes how much childhood means to her, she is aware enough to want the person she has a crush on to love her naturally, unlike Bear. And at the end of the film, she doesn't even make the love wish. Overall, this review was really nice. It really went over my head how annoying Abby was. I would say that Abby and Bear are polar opposites. Abby starts the film lowkey insufferable and then becomes better; while Bear starts off innocently and becomes worse. Aside from both making wishes that end up badly, I wouldn't say they have much else in common.

7:25 It's so crazy that the candle's magic teleported an entire bus and then mind controlled the guy to force him to step out and wish Abby a happy birthday 😂

I turned 27 yesterday and I very much still mourn the things I missed out on or didn’t appreciate enough as a child. Those times are gone, but I try to stay whimsical despite that

I think this role got Debby Ryan ready for Insatiable

As someone entering into their 3rd decade of life, I still feel like I'm transitioning into adulthood. All I can say is go at your own pace and put down more money on your credit cards!

The editing of the Joey Lockhart part is frying me

The way Jay says "you're a... wOMan" 🤧

I like the detail that after Abby makes the wish that people would stop treating her like a kid her hair goes from wavy to straight 😂 I just think it’s funny that the people who made this movie probably thought that the way your hair is styled indicates whether you’re a teen or an adult. Regardless of that I still think it’s a nice visual detail that shows when Abby’s wish-making goes outta control

debby ryan plays the fuck out of selfish shallow teen protagonists chock full of complexes i love it

9:59 Which is funny, because most guys and girls in high school and uni are in their sweatshirts pjs most of the time nowadays anyway 😂

17:32 genuinely got me 😭 Giggling so hard

omg literally no one talks abt this movie and it feels so nostalgic to me😭😭 im sooo sat🩷
