Your paintings are so full of life. Sometimes paintings don't sell because they aren't very good. We bought a couple of paintings from a local artist. We just felt so drawn to her work - a wonderful vibe to it -that we gladly paid a significant price. Her work is also vibrant and beautiful. On a dark January day, it just makes my day bright.

I started painting 4 years ago. Just dinking around for my mental health. I follow many pros like you, just to understand technique. But recently, I feel a need to find my style, to refine technique, to share my work. Something has definitely shifted. Thank you for sharing just in case I realize it's time to enter a show.

I’m an acrylic painter. I like painting inspirational paintings and big cats (Lions are my favorite). I have sold several inspirational paintings and few Tiger paintings to a repeat customer. My painting technique is realism. My son always tells me I sell too cheap but around where I live people don’t pay thousands of dollars for paintings. I’m a grandma who paints in my extra bedroom. Karel here glad i found your channel. I think artists have a predicament because if you sell cheap, you may sell more, but if you sell high people may think you are more worth it. I retired at 50 and i do not care if i sell so i put high prices on. I just got in a local gallery in South Florida. When the snowbirds come back the place comes alive so we will see.

I've had great success with landscapes / lighthouses and portraits. I get the most fun and enjoyment from a landscape with architecture. My lighthouses always seem to do well. This is a great video. 🎨

I’m still developing my style but the first non-commission painting I sold was a project for an art class. Go figure it was the only painting I hated doing… (a cityscape). That said, your point about “clues” is well taken. In hindsight, I think it was the mood and lighting more than anything that made it get scooped up an hour after I posted it! On a separate note, I just want to say how incredible it is to have such amazing Canadian content!!!! Thank you.

Great advice. I had people like and want to buy paintings that I was so so with but if they want to buy it ,so let it be! Who am I to tell somebody what they like.
