Thank you for this in depth look at how your business evolved.  I am a healthcare provider who rediscovered my painting abilities.   I am gradually working towards retiring and have been painting more after not painting for nearly 40 years.  Teachers in high school encouraged me to apply to art school since I was always the one who won first prize at art fairs.  But, I was discouraged from applying to art school as I was told that I would be a "starving artist."   Instead, I chose a healthcare path.   I regret not going to art school but started catching up with painting after undergoing surgery last year.  I became bored being at home and began painting.  Now, I am unable to stop painting and am offering beginner painting classes to children in my neighborhood.  Hopefully, I can figure out a way to sell my paintings.

Hi Julia. I am a 36 year old artist from Chicago and I just want to say I really enjoyed hearing your story and I’m inspired to create my own square foot series. Also I am ashamed because I’m notoriously lazy when it comes to painting the sides of my canvases and yours are so detailed and seamless.

It looks as if you are playing with the colors but you have control over the brush. Your shades and color combinations are amazing!

This just popped in my feed & it was so wonderful to hear about your journey. Your art is great too. I am 61 & an artist from India. Making art is one thing & marketing it is simply another level. And you have mastered both. That's just so wonderful!

Very good info. It didn’t happen overnight, she worked hard ! There are no shortcuts people!

THIS IS AN AMAZING ARTIST BUSINESS LESSONS VIDEO. THANK YOU FROM CAPE TOWN❤❤

Can you make a video of packaging your art for mailing. Perhaps you have, I’m new to finding you on YouTube. Very interesting and informative.

Thank you so much! I have been stuck in figuring out how to start selling my art. I love painting, however, overwhelmed around selling my work. I love how you bring in artists to contribute to your shows! Wonderful. ❤

I just started painting about 2 years ago and do abstract art. I have no formal training and have relied on YouTube videos to learn.  There is no one in my area that teaches these techniques in person. I have gone to art conferences out of state and have taken classes, and that has been very helpful but can be expensive. I follow several artists on YouTube that will answer questions, which is a blessing, but it does not give that hands-on teaching, which is where I thrive. I love your story, and it has opened so many thoughts and questions. I am a nurse by trait and don't have much knowledge of business, web design, marketing, photography, or technical gifts. I would like to know what the best way is, without spending a lot of money, to inform myself on these things that can help me move forward. Thank you for this video, it is inspiring.

I would love you to share some of those early paintings….i would absolutely love and appreciate that. We do change the area. I am a figurative painter

I'm an art college drop out/kitchen table artist, but I'm better than that 😂 I am so anti social media, the thought of having to spend time and energy posting is definitely holding me back. I decided to take my portfolio to a local gallery in my small town, and they loved my work, and really wanted me to get a studio space rental (if you do, you get to hang your work on their gallery wall) but the studio space is absolutely uninspiring. Tiny windows at the top of the painted cinder block walls. Too much like prison, lol. I was even given an art job offer, I was super excited about, but haven't heard back. I don't want to keep hounding them. I guess I am just not sure where to go from here. Once again.... That damn social media thing is super annoying (I'm also neurodivergent)

Not sure why I typed all of this, but thank you for showing me that success is waiting for me ❤

I've seen bright lovely paintings like yours in K Mart and Spotlight. They brighten up rooms for people who can't afford expensive art.

Thank You for a Great Video packed with Tips. Cape Town❤

You are such a delight and full of joy! This was such a great video, thank you!

Painting is work. Selling art is a job.

This was so helpul, thank you so much!!!❤

I love u so much for sharing this ❣️

I was always that person…”she’s an artist!” “She can draw really good”. Not ONE PERSON a when I was a teen, encouraged me to do anything in art. My choices-teacher, Secretary, Nurse. That was it. Guidance counselor wouldn’t even discuss it. I ended up marrying, had a huge family, painted a tiny bit when I could cram it in, but not much. I’m 76 now, my hands are very arthritic. I’ve ended up still cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, taking care of the pets. No one is going to LET YOU or ENCOURAGE YOU. If you want it DO IT.

Lovely ,  tetesting and informative video

Thank you for sharing. This is so helpful.
