Looking back, they've been setting this up with Mae all season. To ensure her passing had even more significance, they clearly showed how much she loved the team. This episode was one of "balance" as Roy said several times: new life, and the death of a loved one, new things and call backs to old. Such amazing writing.
And remember, if Zelda takes control, it's control of the whole club, including the men's team.
I've heard speculation that her "niece Claire" that she mentioned one time, will inherit the pub, and will turn out to be the stage manager, whose name we mysteriously still don't know. We'll see.
They also paid tribute to Anthony Head (Rupert).
"Football is life, football is also death. And that football is football, too. But mostly that football is life!" - Dani Rojas, after talking to Dr. Sharon, after the death of Earl Greyhound.
Yeah, and as bad as it is, for Tess this was going to land even worse.
- - - and at the sme time we can now anticipate a 'Rebecca Mae Jones-Kent'
