Help me choose the scenes for Part 2! 😄 Comment your favorite moments from Airplane!

It's great that an entire new generation is discovering this movie.

Can you imagine what the first read through was like for the actors.

The mechanic checking under the plane’s hood, that’s Dyn-O-Mite!

"How was this PG in 1980?"

In 1980 driving and drinking a beer, at the same time, was still legal.
Seat belts were not mandatory, nor were they always safe...considering cars back then were steel boxes where "safety standads" just meant the car with the most steel.
Every other mom was photographed with their child while holding a cigarette.
Every other dad was giving their son a "sip" from their can of coors.
Every one of us growing up in the late 70s through the 80s had our first cigarette, and beer, by 10. And that kid who was late to the group.
High school pickup trucks still had more gun racks than tailbed doors. And we never heard of a "school shooting"...that time would come with those 90s kids...
That's when everyone went soft on kids. And things only got worse.
...damn...that got dark...
Anywho...that was life as a kid in those days...if things were that hardcore for us on the day to day...it is no wonder our parent's and their generation made films like "Airplane!"...and if you think this one is a rough ride...I cannot wait to see the reactions to "Blazing Saddles".
😂

I like this format better than one reaction going through the scene then rewatching it to the next one

"Cream?"  "No thank you. I take it black, like my men." The burst of laughter in the theater at that particular scene is unforgettable.

When I saw this in the theatre ….everyone died laughing at “have you ever seen a grown man naked?”  Sad that people can’t appreciate humor.

In all the comments about this movie no one has said anything about a jet plane droning like a prop plane.

In the original movie "Zero Hour", which this movie comes from, the pilot was a famous basketball player. The black men are speaking jive.

It’s still funny. It surprises everyone the script and also if you watch all thats going on behind the actors thats what’s funny. You start catching all the antics.

There are some gags that take numerous viewings. Maplenuts caught one with the baby flying in the air. The other one that is throughout the movie is the plane jet sounds were turbo propellers 😅

She said Laurel and Hardy, It was actually Abbott and Costello with the "who's on first" skit.

When you realize they took a real movie about an airplane disaster,  called " zero Hour" and changed the words and added gags, this movie is even funnier.

The beach scene is a parody of an iconic scene from the classic movie "From Here to Eternity"   https://youtu.be/7TlDNMc_hFk?si=fKyLRoNTYtNXtfxW

This movie is based, shot-for-shot on the 1957 drama called Zero Hour!

So , is anyone getting that every time they show the plane flying , there is a "propeller" sound like on "Prop" planes ?......LOL....

I usually hate quick cut mashup reaction, but the placement and editing here is fire.

And don't miss it...there's a propellor sound in the background for the entire movie...and it's a jet aircraft.  And then search for Airplane vs. Zero Hour here on YT.

Reactions to this one will show you which reactors have a sense of humor and which don't.
