"Look guys look, it's one of my greatest achievements Wario Land 4 on the Gameboy Advance."-Wario

WARIO LAND 4 HUMANITY’S GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT

The story of the game is basically:

Wario's reading the newspaper, reads about how archaeologists have unearthed an ancient temple said to house the Golden Pyramid, where the greedy Golden Diva put Princess Shokora to sleep and sealed her away within it to have all it's riches for herself. Wario immediately hops into his Wariomobile and races to the excavation grounds to hunt for treasure, in the process almost running over a stray black cat that is also alerted to the news about the Golden Pyramid excavation when it reads a paper. This cat beats Wario to the location and guides him further into the pyramid.

From there, Wario clears the various worlds within each passage, getting acquainted with it's current inhabitants (the cat, the G&W shopkeeper, and Arewo Stein the archaeologist) and braves the dangers to defeat all the treasure-guarding bosses (once-living spirits of the temple) with or without their help, sending the treasures they guard further into the golden pyramid in the middle of the temple.

Wario then enters the Golden Pyramid and conquers it's final challenge, and encounters the Golden Diva who, like the rest, has become a spirit. At this point, the black cat (if you brought the shopkeeper to use one of their items against the Golden Diva, the shopkeeper transforms back into the black cat, revealing that the two are the same entity) attacks the Golden Diva who captures it in return, leaving Wario to face the Diva. Wario prevails and takes the treasure left behind as the temple and the pyramid start to cave in on itself. Wario, the black cat, and Arewo Stein escape the pyramid before it completely collapses, and the curse upon the black cat is broken revealing they were actually Princess Shokora; the curse that the Diva had planted upon Princess Shokora was actually dooming her to a centuries long and poor life as a stray cat who gives Wario a thank you kiss. Shortly afterwards, angels take Shokora into the afterlife and Wario gets to take the treasure for himself. As he drives back home, Wario reminisces about his adventure in the pyramid. The next day, he almost runs over another stray cat, on his way to an all-you-can-eat-steak buffet for 10 dollars.

Depending on how many treasures you get, Princess Shokora's form varies, from a baby, to an ugly Wario-esque princess, to the much cuter Shokora depicted in official art, and finally a mature Shokora.

Just to clarify the ending: The Cat was actually Princess Shokora who was trapped in that form by the Golden Diva. When the four treasures are given to her she regains her true form, but because of how long she was trapped, she immediately passes away and ascends into heaven.

Notably, Shokora's final appearance depends on how many treasure chests you get. Depending on how many you get, she'll be either an Ugly Baby, a Wario Princess, a Cute Princess or the Dashing Princess.

The Cute Princess seems to be her default form as that's the one with official artwork. Notably she appears as a Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

I know everyone's talking about Waaaaaaario but the Choctopus youtooz thing is already my favorite part because...

OLD-SCHOOL COMMERCIAL RAAAAH

PERFECT, NOW IT'S WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARIO TIME

Weird, I also noticed that Wario was a character I appreciated more as I got older.

Like as a kid, my GBA was for Pokémon  and NES Classics and that's about all I had.

Also always YES to MegaMan content

Hard Mode: You get a shorter time limit, less hearts for bosses, the location for jewel pieces can be changed, enemy quantity and type are changed, and less time to beat bosses or escape the stage when you hit the switch, and an extra picture in the credits sequence (+ Wario drives a different car in the ending). Beating Hard Mode is also required to unlock Super Hard Mode which is Hard Mode on steroids + a couple changes to Hall of Hieroglyphs and Palmtree Paradise to make those more exciting.

9:35 gravity circuit is PEAKKKKKKKKK

Hard Mode rearranges the jewel pieces to make you explore the level, reduces the escape countdown, forces you to fight all bosses with 4 hearts, and also reduces boss time limits. Beat it to unlock Super Hard, which adds that you start every level at 1 heart, sometimes moves the frog switch, further reduces escape countdowns and boss timers, and moves a few jewel pieces again.
The disc is an extra collectible that gives you weird music tracks in the Sound Room

35:57 the same engine for wario land 4 was used for the development of metroid fusion

A few pointers about Wario Land 4:

- levels have MANY hidden passages, from breakable walls that don't look the part, to actual fake walls you can walk through, and secrets hidden behind secrets. Finding them all is actually pretty difficult, and on Hard/S-Hard, those more obtuse hidden corners can become mandatory for finding all pieces of the jewel.
- enemies that don't drop any money on kill have an effect that transforms Wario. They respawn when changing rooms and often have multiple uses in the same room.
- Spear-Masks and Marumen (the round purple things in Hall of Hieroglyphs) transform when you ground pound near them. This makes them "stronger", but also increases the amount of money they drop.
- The small red orbs enemies drop fill the red gauge under Wario's hearts. When it's full, you get a heart. But when you fill the gauge while your hearts are maxed, every enemy that drops a red orb will instead drop a 50-coin, as long as you remain maxed out.
- You get crowns for finishing a level with a certain score: 5.000 coins get you a Bronze Crown, 7.500 coins net you a Silver Crown, and 10.000 coins earn you a Gold Crown. Getting a Gold Crown in every level unlocks a little secret.
- The four items in the Item Shop before each boss that cost 10 coins, are in fact not equal. Each of the four bosses has a weakness to one of them, which results in the weapon dealing more damage. Black Dog against Catbat, Big Fist against Cuckoo Condor, Black Dragon against Cractus, and Large Lips against Aerodent.

As someone who started with Pizza Tower and is now trying the game out on the GBA emulator for Switch. I can definitely say both are 10/10 games

You know you have played a game to death when you can't look at someone else playing it, without getting annoyed that he missed all the "obvious" secrets and didn't pick up on the mechanics right away

AH YOU PICK

wario.

32:33 i find it funny that the sprite wasnt even visible for half the joke

As a fellow warioland fan,u should play wl2 next

It basically set the foundation to the series (sorta like how smb3 set a standard for the mario games)
Though that game is WAY longer, you'll see.

Please play Wario Land 3! The fourth one is fantastic, but three is so good that I can’t think of any positive adjectives that justify how good it is.

This game aged really well, the art style, gameplay and all.
