I wish they did a ‘day free mega’ with more notes pages. I know Sterling ink do the common planner but I love the Hobonichi aesthetic!

Also seconding the comment which says the day free doesn’t get the acorn but only the pen - it’s written on the Hobonichi website - if you add to cart it says ‘store exclusives: ball point pen’

Tori, your switch to the Day Free has been a literal light bulb over my head (look through your screen! see it?!). I am hopelessly devoted to Hobonichi (tried everything, always come back, love it too much), but having trouble with my beloved A6 Techo lately. Some days it's just not...quite...enough room. I do not want a Cousin, the weekly pages are lost on me. I've long considered the Day Free move, but it wasn't until this video that you sealed the deal for me with these words: object permanence. I NEED everything in one notebook or it's...gone. Captain's log, to-dos, lists, journal entries--but not in an enormous book. Thanks for throwing a lasso around my whirling thoughts with your wise words and NAILING IT. I have always loved your channel, but this video was a special gift. Thank you!

The original or cousin planners get a pen and an acorn, the 5 years journals get acorn only and the weeks and day-free get pens only. I ordered direct from Hobonichi (2 weeks and a 5 year), so 2 pens and 1 acorn 🐿️

Pikachu with a journal keychain 🥹 I’m obsessed that you “girl mathed” the planner buying with equating it to matcha lattes. I’ve done that before! The half grid half blank box journal layout is super cool!

the day free makes so much sense! I loved that book so much when I used it in 2024, I think it’s going to work out well for you❤️ also I couldn’t agree more about sterling ink - although they’re objectively beautiful, there is something about the fonts and colors that feel a little sterile to me.

happy 3 years queen!👑

I really want to get a few of these for planning out 2027. I have two that I am using now and I can’t justify buying another just yet. 😅 I’ve set myself a goal to finish my first draft of my book by the end of December and if I do it, I get to make a BIG purchase towards my first hobonichi notebooks, pens, and stickers. For now I am living through your haul videos, they are so good! Keep them coming! haha

I would love to see how you set up your work planner and what your job is!!

The Day Free works best for me. I use an A5. I like that having with monthly section and then pages and pages to write freely.  I felt more restricted with a day a page like the cousin etc. and I never used the weekly section. I usually buy two books and that gets me through a year.   Anyway I enjoy your content. Thanks for posting😍

You're the second person I see that comments on the fonts Sterling Ink uses! That's interesting, it has never bothered me but now I'll have to take a second look at it LOOL

😍 I love this direction you’re heading in! I’m solidly in my small grid, thin TRP paper phase (I swear, Hobonichi does it best - I might be imagining it, but it feels like their paper is thinner than other brands) and I can understand why you went with the Day-Free. I like the blue is their cover, too.

I love Tiffany and her FC books. I am hoping for an A6 in the future with that double weeks layout, in either TRP or View Corona (which is more cream than white).

New Tori vid? Oh heck yeah

I got the Sterling to try and just either get off my list once and for all or not (I needed to experience it 😂) but I’m def leaning toward the day free hobos too. I got the avec impulsively and regretted it because I just want it all in one place even knowing halfway thru I dislike it cause I’m sick in the head 🫠 love the colors of those last two so gorgeous!

❤❤❤❤❤ shout out Tori on paper for putting me onto faded Chronicle. I bought a Sterling ink planner for the 2026 year horizontal and I like it but I’m always like eyeing the vertical spreads of other planners and I love that now I know about an awesome fucking option.🎉❤❤❤❤❤

oh! do i need a hobonichi day free? (i already bought a cousin) also happy three years tori <3

didn’t get a chance to leave my guess last video but i suspected a day free given your love for hobonichi but dislike of dated pages lol

oh swag??? actually epic swag?

Off topic but your nails are so pretty. Still looking for my 2027 planner, everything might sold out soon 😅

I was just thinking about picking up a Day-Free because (I may have said this before, rip my memory) I could never gel with the Original or the Cousin. I already own a Hibino day free but I prefer the dated Hibino for daily planning and notes and the Hobonichi day-free for journaling the way you do, adding a ton of ephemera and collage elements (could not do that with the 770 page Hibino, even though it’s TRP as well). The dated monthly calendars (which the Hibino DF doesn’t have - not even boxes to fill out with the dates) are great to ground my journaling in time. I don’t think your self-drawn calendars are janky, but mine certainly are, so if they’re already done for me, that’s one less thing to fuss about.

Also, a big fat YES to the neutral grid colour. I don’t need a super minimalist white and grey Hobo clone, but I may have also mentioned that I am super picky about grid darkness and hue. The fact that most of Hobonichi’s plain grid notebooks also come with the multicolour grid annoys me much more than it should. I think the Arts and Sciences English Planner also has a more monochromatic colour scheme, but my issue with that book is sigh grid size. Hate that they made it larger. I do like the looks of its cover, though.

Since you mentioned the tactility of the FC covers, I was wondering whether you’d be put off by the material used for a book’s cover. I am not a huge fan of the cardstock covers, which is kind of a problem when I like to use a Paper Republic multi-book system inside the leather folio, and most TN-style softcover inserts are made from Kraft or cardstock. Big fan of the floppy, velvety Faded Chronicle covers, Stalogy covers (wish I liked the paper more), and the Hibino covers.

Anyway, enough public airing of my neuroses lol. Congrats on the channel anniversary and thanks for sharing Faded Chronicle! That brand needs to be more widely known.

unfortunately the accorn charm is only for the a6, avec, cousin and 5 year. The day free and weeks only get the pen for free
