Hi Bronte, here's a tip from someone who lives where it regularly gets to 100 degrees F or about 40 degrees C in the summer. You need to open your windows early in the morning. One or two windows at one end of the house and then one or two at the other end of the house. Place a fan pulling air into the house at one window and a fan blowing air out of the house at another window on the other end of the house. Try to get the cone of air coming out of the fan covering as much of the window as possible. The goal is to create a sort of tunnel of wind through the house to pull the outside air in. Once the house is cool, around probably 20 C or so, or once the temperature/sun starts to rise outside, close all the windows and shut the blinds/curtains. Then just run the fans in the home until the sun goes down again. This is much more effective than just opening all of the windows, because the fans help pull the air into the home and you're sort of creating a suction effect by only opening a few windows.

In my experience this is the best way to get airflow through the house when you don't have AC.

love your dot system, i have recently started to have random quilting and knitting entries in my everyday notebook and i feel like they don't feel at-home in that space, but maybe if i have a way to reference them as a one-off mention that will feel more intentional. (trying not to rip them out and move them to their defined other notebooks)
