Why don't US residents in general realise what is going on in their country.

When I went to the USA I was shocked at just how UNFREE it is.  Citizens are brainwashed to think they’re free but only once you’ve been outside can you grasp just how unfree the USA is.  And what makes it worse is that the danger is hidden under propaganda and spin so you can’t even see it coming.  I live in the Middle East and have travelled to Saudi Arabia multiple times and I feel safer and freer there than in the USA, simply because the rules are KNOWN.  Not just fake PR rules.

In 1930's and 40's Germany they lived 'peaceful, safe lives' while their neighbours were rounded up and murdered.

I have noticed quite an increase in ‘Visit the USA’ adverts recently.. The US tourist board clearly recognise their numbers are down..

Given everything that is going on over there, I have no desire to visit or holiday in the USA..

The scenes with ICE in minnesota literally look like a war zone.

I'm a Brit living in Canada, within sight of the USA and within a 30 min drive of two border crossings. I last crossed that border in 2013, with my English son, who was here on holiday and had never been here before. I wanted him to have some experience of being in the USA, even if only to drive back from Niagara to Montreal. But we got snagged at the crossing and put through the mill, which took hours because they were understaffed, overwhelmed, and their offices were in chaos. It took us longer to cross the border than it did to drive home. And the whole time we were stuck in chaotic limbo, we were faced by a poster on the wall saying "Welcome to America". I swore then that I'd never, ever put another visitor brought that hellish experience. Don't get me wrong, there was no antagonism from the border agents. They were polite and friendly throughout, just trying to do their job and to enforce their rules, but unable to cope. Now we can reasonably expect antagonism, intrusive questioning, suspicion, and overt racism on top of chaos. No, I'm never going near those border crossings ever again.

The girl was saying tourists have no rights or protections, she wasnt talking about US citizens, this is about whether tourists want to visit.

I'm white British and my husband is black British. We used to go to the US (last time 2024) but now I wouldn't chance it. Last year we went to Canada for the first time and I'll probably never go back to the US until the regime changes. Canada is for me now as the people are so lovely and you feel much safer.

I visited the USA twice and I would never go back.  Nasty border control,  the people are friendly but dumb. The arrogance is incredible when their systems are like the third world. Must be the drugs in the food? I felt unwell eating the slop.

There's a film where a woman wakes up every morning and can't remember anything that's happened recently. You seem to suffer from the same amnesia – constantly surprised , no matter how many videos you watched about these topic.

Respect is a word absent from Trumps vocabulary unless its directed toward him.

Tyler, open your eyes!!!!

I have been over 20 times since 1970.. on my last planned trip I was told that I needed a full blown visa because  the orange blob declared  Cuba a sponsor of terrorism  and I had been to Cuba 2 years previously. As well as the cost I had to go to the American Embassy for an interview. I was interviewed by two guys who treated me like a criminal, me an 80 year old spy.. ?? I eventually got my visa but I went to Canada instead.

I have visited the US many times. I will never go there while Trump is in charge. To be brutally honest, my feelings towards Americans as a whole have gone through the floor since his re-election. It sometimes occurs to me that at least a third of the US population has quite literally gone mad.

Americans have "rights/freedoms", sure they do.
If you cant afford healthcare you have the right/freedom to die of preventable causes.
If you can't afford rent you have the right/freedom to live on the streets.
If you can't afford a lawyer you the right to get the maximum sentence.
If you can't afford private education you have the freedom to leave school "poorly educated".
If you do receive an education and go to collage, you have the right to pay student loans for decades.
If you go to school, church, synagogue, concerts, you have the right to be shot and killed.
If you're wealthy you have the right to con people, ra#e children, avoid taxation without consequences.
So no I have no desire to visit/live in America, there are literally a hundred countries higher up on the list of desired destinations.

Friends of mine went to the states one bullet hit in there hotel room and as the went biking through the countryside they had an hillbilly following them armed with a shotgun

No way not even if all expences were paid.

After a husband and wife 65 years old were put in ICE detention cells for 6 weeks without a phone call or to get help from the embassy with an approved visa, no fuking way

Tyler, let this sink in. As a swede with relatives in st paul MN that emigrated from sweden in 1856 are considered immigrants by ICE. Yes they have been harassed on the street.

I don’t think you can say you live in safety when you can literally be assaulted/shot/killed by your own authorities for doing nothing. You have no defence against something you can’t predict, even by being a law abiding citizen.
