In the theater, when Coco starts singing there was not one freaking person who wasn’t crying. The lady next to me actually gasped before she broke down sobbing.

If you don't cry when Mama Coco starts singing, we can't be friends

Not him not realising the “street cat” is the “flying panther”😭

Fun fact: My favorite detail at the end of the film.

Notice that when Hector crosses the bridge, he's wearing shoes. A visual representation of him being accepted back into the family. ❤❤❤

My mother once told me that we cannot hate something that we never loved. Hate only comes from a betrayal of something love. That's why it's so strong of an emotion.

“I wish I was Mexican” is the exact kind of title I’d expect from this channel 😭

Ernesto De La Crus is probably the last good Disney Twist Villain

I haven't seen a lot of people point this out, but at the end when Miguel was playing the guitar, you can see (I guess his cousin) the girl who told him he needed to have talent to be in a talent show playing the violin. So I guess he wasn't the only one hiding their love for music in the family.

Of course Dante is a spirit guide bc he is a Xoloitzcuintle. These dogs were special to the Aztecs bc they were spirit guides that helped human spirits get trough the Mictlan which is the Aztec underworld in order to be able to rest in peace for the eternity.
Mamá Imelda's spirit guide is an alebrije which are Mexican artesanías where parts of several animals (real like riggers and eagles, or imaginary like dragons) are put together to make something completely different.
Also, the women you said were in very suggestive positions are Frida Kahlo, one of the most famous Mexican painters. De la Cruz looks were inspired in Pedro Infante who was one of the most famous actors during the period known as the Mexican film golden age.

Coco is short from Socorro, which used to be a common name in México. My own mother is named Socorro as well, and every one of her family and friends know her as Coco, so this movie resonated a lot with me a lot, although at her 85 years she still remembers everything. Only her back hurts when she wants to do some chores, which she insist on still do despite being told to relax and forget about it.

Amazing video My Friend!

these titles getting wilder with every video lmao

From a cultural standpoint, Coco means the world to me. The sheer respect for Mexican culture in this movie is just incredible. The music, the food & the preparations for The Day Of The Dead. The culture itself is part of who I am and it's very important, as is the message of the importance of family. Also, the customs agent in The Land Of The Dead was portrayed by funnyman Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias.

My uncle has dementia and has gotten progressively worse over the past few years. He doesn't really talk or recognize anyone anymore, including his own sons. He used to be an amazing singer, and whenever he hears songs he used to sing now, it's like the light is returning to his eyes and he sings along a bit. Music is truly powerful, and this movie is a testimony to that. I'm glad you gave this one a shot! Super fun and sweet reaction, as always!

As a Mexican, I can say they nailed everything PERFECTLY in this movie! From the town, to the culture, to the music, to the message. Dia de los Muertos is more than just a Mexican Halloween holiday, its remembering those who left us behind to go to the other place. Family is so crucial to our culture, b/c no matter what happens, family is always there for you, and those who have passed on still watch over us. And this movie captured all that flawlessly while still having that Pixar charm. It is w/o a doubt my favorite Pixar movie, that still makes me laugh and cry every time I see it.

29:09  HOW DID HE MANAGED TO LOOK EXACTLY LIKE DANTE??😂😂😂😂

Ernesto took everything from Hector. His family. His fame. Even his guitar. By the end of the movie, Hector reclaims everything. The last thing he takes back is the spirit form of his guitar. They don't make a big deal of it, but you can see him take it at the very end when Miguel is playing.

The fact that Alex knew what was going on in this movie without actually knowing is hilarious, and the editing makes it phenomenal as always

As an actual Mexican, I now pronounce you honorary Mexican... 😂😂

Do ya thang, carnal...!
(carnal=brother)

One of the really neat little details I noticed is in the offices in the Land of the Dead they go into at the beginning, all of the stuff the workers are using are "dead" technology. The old boxy computers, the adding machines, old cameras, etc. That extra bit of effort for some blink and you'll miss it moments are just great
