The game going ahead made zero difference to anything other than not handing Israel 6pts towards qualification and saving the Irish team fines and bans. Yes UEFA should have banned Israel in the same way as Russia but they didn’t. In a weeks time it will all be forgotten about and the news cycle will move on to the next thing and so will one or two of the mouth pieces calling for resignations of people that they don’t even know.

Service in the IDF is manadatory so how does the lady know how those individuals think politically?

If  Ireland were drawn against a  Palestinian team ,should a game take place after the 7th of October massacre
Especially the attack on young people a nova music festival, or is it just Israeli atrocities

No tie guy. - shaking hands with the human being in front of you is showing respect.  Ireland failed to do it.

Compare and contrast the way Fianna Fáil handled the call for a 1989 boycott of a rugby game in apartheid South Africa with the current Fianna Fáil government silence throwing the players under the bus.

They were right to play the game.  Sport is separate from politics. The FAI had a democratic vote on it and deemed it would have been damaging to Irish football not   to play the game.

Playing against Afganistán is ok ?

My honest opinion. UEFA should ban former IDF soldiers from participating in football. If Israel cannot field a team under that rule, so be it. Hold Israel accountable and let football play its part and stop the game @uefa

Will we ever get rid of this FF FG Shower. ? Useless

They did not protect the players

When the decision was made to play the game by the FAI,  the self-appointed communist, anti-Christian, anti-democracy element of society should have stayed out of it. It is their involvement in trying to overrule the democratic organisation that brought all the TRAUMA onto our players.  We should separate politics from religion and sport.
It is those self-appointed communist, anti-Christian groups in Europe that are leading to the rise of the parties of the right. In other words, the right is seeking to have a truly functioning democracy.
This element of society doesn't believe in democracy. These are the groups that start petitions (for instance, a government minister should resign). They get 20,000 and see this as justification for their demand. What they can't see is that 3.5 million of registered Irish voters decided NOT to sign the petition. In this situation, they believe that pressure from them can overrule the democracy of the Dáil. They are not Ok with the suffering in Gaza but are OK with the suffering they caused the Irish football team.

On which map is Israel in Europe? Oh, right, it's a European colony. (Thought they weren't supposed to admit that.)

Just settle this on the battle field.. irelands  best against the IDF.. Winner takes all.. I know who my monies on😂😂😂

Coleman is an absolute joke. Ruining what was a decent news programme.

Government and the FAI let them and the country down. Shouldn't have played it

So...no boycott when you guys would have played USA for example, Australia, Turkey, New Zealand, Indonesia or Canada? GENOCIDAL regimes on scale unimaginable for current Gaza situation?  Hilarious that ..do you in Ireland pick which life is more valuable? 🥱🥱🥱
