Outside. It's crazy out there.

Dubai was mentioned 4 times.

Cat calling, physical, mental, emotional and sexual abuse and harassment really needs to stop. It's absolutely disgusting.

"Syria was a beautiful and historically fascinating county, naturally fertile and prosperous, with delicious food and friendly people"

That's just too sad, idek who to blame for this

Venice. It's a beautiful city, but there are just waaaaay too many people. You read stories now and again about how Venetians hate tourists and keep trying to kick them out of the city and I completely understand.

Also when I was trying to leave my train was delayed by about four hours. So as it turns out the part of Venice I saw the most of was the train station.

China. I'm Chinese and I went to China last year to visit my relatives. IT WAS FREAKING TERRIBLE. Pollution, completely way too many full restaurant, homeless people everywhere you go BEGGING for money, an there are like  5 drunk people every second you look. At least the food is good though.

Edit: What I just said is not applied to all areas of China, but it’s still like that in major cities like Beijing and Shanghai.

"somalia" he says, as if it isn't a literal warzone lmao. It's really not a tourist destination, even as a somali who went there to understand my country more, i was way too scared of being bombed or shot whenever i was outside my hotel to enjoy anything. Hopefully one day it'll flourish again as a tourist destination like it did in the 50s

Don't go to Manila or anywhere in the National Capital Region. This is coming from someone who lives in there. Just don't.

Oh, and if any of you are still interested in Dubai, know that it's not just poverty, like the last post about Dubai says.  It's modern slavery.  The city was partially built on the backs of slaves who were tricked into going there.

There’s a reason why Carly didn’t want to go to Yakima.

Oh my god I’m so happy someone mentioned Moscow airport. I’ve never stepped foot outside of it because I just had a transfer there, but dear lord it convinced me to never properly visit Russia.

Same goes for Paris airport (CDG). Man, I’ve transferred there three times and not a single one of them was positive. I don’t even know how they manage to be that bad. Like I was going home to Norway after visiting South Korea, and the flight from Paris was my last of three. I had a six hour layover and still nearly missed my flight due to how unorganised they were. First of all I landed there at night and had to take the transportation from where I landed to another section of the airport, but the fuckers had turned every single screen off so I couldn’t check my gate (it wasn’t listed on my ticket either because of flying with various airlines). The wifi was piss poor too so couldn’t check there either, and there was no staff. Just had to gamble on which terminal I had to go to and thankfully chose the right one. Then, when the time for boarding finally came, I looked around and saw that not a single staff member was at the gate. There were still a bunch of confused passengers, though. I had been sitting there for five hours and they literally didn’t at any point announce a gate change, but they’d done it anyway. No one notified us. Every passenger was fucking pissed. Also, bonus: the new gate was at the opposite side of the terminal. That run was just ~lovely~.

Last time I was there the security decided to yell at me for removing my shoes and it was the most unnecessary thing ever. The first thing the lady did was yell at me for removing them and saying that I needed to listen to her. That was the first thing I’d heard her say in English. And with all due respect, the only other time I’ve been yelled at by security was in Moscow for not removing my shoes. I’d also just flown from Abu Dhabi where they clearly inform you to remove your shoes. I really don’t see how it’s a problem, but she was genuinely mad at me for removing them as well as my glasses. I hate being touched so I automatically remove those to avoid any chance of beeping. She went on and on about how they have a shoe scanner if it beeps and I frankly couldn’t care less, but they held me up for five minutes over this which was quite the problem as my layover was only about an hour long and my previous flight was delayed. Oh, and another woman started yelling at me simultaneously so I couldn’t hear a single word of what either were saying. They questioned the dumbest shit, like literally holding up a tiny bag I carry and asking me what it was. It was ridiculous. Like with all due respect, you can’t expect every single passenger to know exactly what your rules are for scanning at every single fucking airport if you don’t have printed guidelines. If it had, at any point, said not to remove my shoes I wouldn’t have removed them. Every airport has different rules, and I can’t know them all. I just remove everything instinctively because I hate being touched more than anything and want to avoid every chance of those machines beeping. Do not force me to put my glasses back on just because you don’t care. Don’t hold me up for that. Just fucking scan them if I’ve already removed them. Same for my shoes. I’m not gonna fucking put them back on just for them to beep so I have to remove them again and put them in a fucking shoe scanner. Absolute wankers.

In conclusion those two airports have the rudest fucking staff I’ve ever encountered. I’m not even going to talk about Moscow, but it was bad. I’ve travelled a lot and been to a variety of airports, but just thinking about those two makes me legitimately angry.

When in Cuba me and my maid wrote notes to each other everyday(I was there for 2 weeks) and on my last day there I found out she had a daughter my age and left her all of my holiday clothes for her because everyone working at the hotel were struggling locals and she needed them a lot more than I did

Me, a filipino: I wonder if people went to the Philippines and actually hated it

The first post: Manila

Me: god fgjking dammi--

Gary Indiana is totally like driving into a cloud that is a portal to a place that just screams "DEPRESSION" like the city is cloudy. The smell is terrible. The buildings are old and sad and grey. I only drive through to see family on the other side but it feels like leaving a different world. I don't stop at the gas stations there.

Geonosis, Umbara, and Felucia. Need not say more.

Had a family member go to Egypt. He liked the ancient sights but everything else sucked. It was dirty, smelly, and full of nasty people. He got his pictures and left.

Anyone else watch this just to make sure where they live isn’t in it?

Japan. I finally lived my weeb dream of teaching in Japan and it was terrible for me. I'm tall, fat, and black, so I might of well have been monster. No one wanted to sit near me, kids/teens ran from me, old people spit at me, and people were just generally super rude if it wasn't a service transaction (racist comments, pointing and laughing, pushing when I was already off to the side). I didn't expect to fit in of course, but I did expect people to be civil. When I finally snapped and went home and couldn't bare to leave the house during the day for months because months of being treated like a freak really fucked with me. I still have nightmares that I'm in that place from time to time and wake up close to tears  (but I know 99% of people have a good time! Just my personal experience)

lol
im from abu dhabi and i sometimes drive 100 km to Dubai to get myself some authentic Japanese ramen .

Bejing. I went there for an international para-sport competition they were hosting a few years back (not the Paralympics, it was a few years after that). All my teammates are visibly disabled, like mostly all in wheelchairs, a few amputees with prosthetics, A few on crutches, stuff like that, and every time we went out in public it was like the circus had come to town. Grown adults would crowd around us to stare, point, laugh, whisper, take photos and the like. It made going anywhere impossible, not that we could go to many places anyway since most of the major attractions in the city were not accessible (not really surprising, at this point in time accessibility was still not a well understood thing, even back home, so traveling overseas we weren't really expecting much). Also, the amount of homelessness was just heartbreaking.
