So, being a 90s kid in India, I clearly remember bugs rushing towards the headlight of my father's motorcycle every early evening. We had to wear sunglasses and sometimes wrap a cloth around our nose and mouth only to not let them enter, they'd enter a full face helmets as well. Nowadays, they're vanished. I live in a semi-rural area and even I barely get to see insects in swarms.
4:21 I’m a massage therapist for a corporate company. There are certain things that increase a tip the client might give. Yes a great massage will give you a great tip but just being kind and making them feel special is key. The mints make you think you care about me beyond the restaurant and you’re giving me something for free.
There are at least still 2 cinemas in the city where I live (Antwerp, Belgium) where you'll get a paper ticket stub. I past them into a book as souvenirs, literally hundreds of movies over the last 20 years or so. I can still say who I watched each movie with for 95% of the tickets or so, or sometimes on my own.
I am obliged to say, Netflix will NEVER get my business again unless they drop the price to $10 or less a month, ad free, can share log ins, and a DVD in the mail.
Its not just bugs on the windshield. Fireflies (lightning bugs) are all but gone. Used to have hundreds lifting off every summer night, now I can't remember the last time I saw them.
I remember back in the sixties, seventies and eighties when I would go for a drive I would always have to scrape off all the bugs on the window and the grill of my car. It was especially bad if I was driving in the early morning or early evening. But since the 90s that hasn't been a problem anymore and I find it alarming. All the bugs are dying!
I have noticed the reduction of dead insects on windshields, but i thought it was due to better aerodynamics in cars for fuel efficiency. 75% fewer insects is quite troubling, and nobody is talking about it.
