Makes you aware of how tough it must have been for George to be on his own.

We're introduced to Fred confusing Molly on their names and wanting to ask Harry about Voldy while George offers to help first with the trunk

Fred is the Phineas to George's Ferb

Gred and Feorge

This deep dive into the two has made me realise so much about them. Like I knew they were differnet but never this much

I thought they were like IDENTICAL identical but now I realise how much they are different. This has really changed how I see them

I think this is most apparent in that scene in the 4th book where Ron, Hermione and Harry sneak into the owlery, hidden under the invisibility cloak. Fred and George don't know they're there and Fred is pissed and says they should blackmail Ludo Bagman, which makes George nervous and he tells Fred that it's not a good idea. To this, Fred says, "You're starting to sound a lot like our dear older brother.." (Percy).

To me this was the scene which made it most apparent how different they are, because with no one else around to perform for we see that George is sensible and worried meanwhile Fred is a lot more hot-headed and vengeful. It's also the first (and only) time we see them actually fight which reminds you that despite their similarities they're not the same person; they're siblings.

I think Hary was wrong about fred and George. In Order of the Phoenix following Snape's worst memory, he reflects that fred and George wouldn't turn someone upside-down. I think Fred probably would do that. In the same way, it was George who explained that they'd forced Montague into the faulty vanishing cabinet; yet, it's Fred who seems less concerned about Montague's possible fate. Fred is much more like the marauders in that respect.

So Fred is the Trailbrazer, and George is the Resolver.

We know we're called Gred and Forge.

I also think that Fred was killed instead of George because he's slightly crueler. Not saying he was being punished for that, but just imagine Fred without George to reign him in, especially a Fred who's grieving George.

Its worth pointing out that Fred was the first of the family to accept Percy back after he finally appologized. Maybe george being attacked and hurt as well as Bill's wedding being attacked made him realize how much family really means and how soon they can be gone. Plus the dragon earrings  earrings the twins got their mom as a gift.

Fred can be a bit more remorseful if he feels someone didnt deserve it. Like he actually seems sorry about the punching telescope that got Hermione in hbp. We also got fred giving Ron crap about washing potatoes when he could of helped.

George also was more willing to praise Ron during qudditch. He still has a fuse like when he and harry beat up malfoy and fred didnt, but only because he was restrained.

I think his is one of my favorite Harry Potter insight videos!  It was so cool hearing all of the differences between Fred and George and being like, oh, yeah!  It did happen like that!  This video makes me want to go reread the scene where the twins comfort Harry about passing out on the train when the Dementors boarded it to hear who says what.  There's a few parts to it.  They insult Malfoy for mocking Harry and then they talk about the affects Dementors have on other people to reassure Harry that it's not just him who's affected by them.  I'm curious to see who says which parts in that scene.

To be honest, I never noticed a single difference between the two of them while reading. I always just assumed she had made them to be interchangeable. Now this video has me wondering if Rowling actually had specific differences in mind. Or if she always just had Fred speak first because it's "Fred and George," and that ended up making him sound more assertive...

George is my favorite

Funny, you say Fred is probably the more popular twin.. I always liked George a bit more. Thought it was maybe just because I liked the name more, but maybe I was picking up on the differences subconsciously..
Enjoyed the video, even though I've heard others talk about this. The format of your videos are always well structured and you present your points nicely. 😊

1:29 reading the books I always thought that Fred was the more "dominant" of the two, one could even speculate on whether George would still be a prankster if it wasn't for Fred. (Also I think for this reason that Fred's death is more impactful than how George's would've been)

My daughter is best friends with identical twin girls. When I first met them, I wouldn't tell the difference, but it turns out aside from being identical they are totally different people in every way. Now I know which is which just by the way they move, smile, speak.  Makes perfect since Fred and George have some big difference although they are identical.

Thank you!! I have ALWAYS said I had a favorite twin: George. I always said they were so different, that George was more empathetic and diplomatic -- that Fred was more impulsive and cruel. Nobody believed me! Thank you for this video!!
