I feel like I wanna cover more of this can I do that is that okay… ?

I love you Andy, but please bring back cardboard Jon Taffer to the background

Ralphthemoviemaker just awoke like a sleeper cell agent.

"CHARLES STYLES MYSTERY DINERS"

My dad was on this show! Season 8 episode 8!

Oh my god, is that Charles styles mystery diners!?! I havent seen anyone else talk about this show except for ralphthemoviemaker

If you ever cover this show again like you covered the bar rescue stuff, you need to cover the insane episode where a waiter steals lobsters to 'free' (without cutting the armbands on their claws off) them in the ocean. Meanwhile another employee is like selling illegal shirts. It's just insane.

19:11  ignoring it’s all fake; how is listening to your direct manager saying to do something that honestly makes sense “the wrong thing to do” 😂

"RELEASE THE DRONE" we all chant in unison.

4:20 "Bob Vance, Vance refrigeration"

how in gods name are you supposed to eat burgers that vertical

I was an extra on the show Mystery Diners a long time ago in Southern California. I had to read and sign a contract in front of a camera agreeing that I wouldn’t share any of this information. But I’m broke, so….. lol.

From what I remember, I found the job listing on Craigslist and had to apply. I went alone, so the show sat me at a table with the real owners of the restaurant and one of the cameraman’s girlfriends. They asked if I had any waitressing experience, but I didn’t, so I was just a regular ol’ customer. The cameraman’s girlfriend was friends with the owners of the bar/restaurant, so that’s how they got on the show.

Actors played the owners (while the real owners were pretending to be patrons), as well as the waitresses and bartenders. Some real employees were probably still working there too; I just know for sure that the show added their own people.

I got paid $20 and got free food just to sit at a table with strangers and pretend I knew them. The show told us, “Eat this meal as slowly as you ever have,” because filming takes forever, and they can’t have the food there one second, gone the next, and then magically back again.

That’s also my theory as to why TV shows and movies never seem to have ice in their drinks. But I digress.

The cameraman’s girlfriend told me that her boyfriend said the faker and more over-the-top the show is, the more views it gets.

There were real customers there mixed in with everyone else because I remember one guy saying out loud, “Why is it so bright in here? It’s not normally so bright.” Basically, for filming, they needed much better lighting than the normal dark-bar atmosphere.

The depressing part is that when the episode finally came out, I sat down and watched it with my family, and I don’t think I got any screen time at all. It was interesting, though. I wouldn’t do it again. lol.

Things may have changed in the many years since I lived in California, but back then, my storage unit filmed an episode of Storage Wars. The workers said they definitely put things inside the storage units for the show.

I also had a coworker who was selected for one of those weight-loss ads for Nutrisystem. They gave her a personal trainer for free to use between the “before” and “after” photos.

My dad helped on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and he said a lot of things wouldn’t actually be finished by the time the family showed up. He also said Ty Pennington doesn’t actually lock himself in a room and fix everything himself. Really, the cast would film themselves doing a little bit of “work” and then walk around saying hello to all the fans while other people actually did the work.

I was also on an episode of Let’s Make a Deal. I won cash, but the moment I sat back down, they came and took the cash away.
I say this because I found it interesting that the way the game show works is that you don’t actually get your prize until about six months after the episode airs. You also sign a contract saying that if, for whatever reason, they don’t air your part or your episode, your prize is void. So, technically, someone could win a car, but if their segment never airs on TV, they would never receive it.

I also had a coworker who did one of those car-fixer-upper shows. I think it was Overhaulin’, but it was so long ago that I’m not 100% sure that was the show.

Anyway, they really did fix the car. He said it just took them SOOOOOO long. It was a car that his wife’s dad had given her, and she kept wondering where it was. He had to keep up some kind of lie about where the car was, and it was a ridiculously long time before he finally got it back.

Miley Cyrus also came to my school to do a concert for a girl who was raising money for her mom, who had cancer. At one point, Miley was supposed to take the girl in a limo to get their hair and nails done. But they apparently just drove around the block, dropped them back off at home, and pretended they had gone to get their hair and nails done.

Again, this was a long time ago, so I could definitely be remembering some of the details incorrectly. But, to the best of my knowledge these are facts.

I remember watching the Ralphthemoviemaker Mystery Diners episode back when I was in highschool

4:55 Im sorry, Jimmy WHO ???

CHARLES STILES MYSTERY DINERS CHARLES STILES MYSTERY DINERS

The funniest thing was how obvious Mystery Shoppers are because they needed to hit certain things on a list, meaning none of them came across as a natural interaction. 9/10 times the issue could have been discovered and resolved if the boss just listened to and empowered their employees to do what the business needs.

The weather guy even introduced him with both names.

14:17 there are not many car shows that you don't have to pay for either to show your car or to enter the event. What is he talking about? Most people are used to that.

13:47 I had totally forgot that was this dude's name for a sec and I was like "Jimmy what?"

Woah it’s Charles styles Mystery Diners. I hope he releases the drone

i love you andy king
