Caleb Flynn: A 33-Year Detective Breaks Down Every Lie In His 911 Call

Caleb Flynn called 911 at 2:30 a.m. on September 16 to report that intruders had broken into his Ohio home and shot his wife Ashley twice in the head while she slept, and prosecutors now say he fired the shots himself. A retired detective with 33 years on the job and a homicide prosecutor with 29 years of trials walk the full call line by line - how Flynn knew there were exactly two shots before any post-mortem exam, why he told the dispatcher he was on the couch and then never checked on his two sleeping daughters despite being asked three separate times, the garage side door he kept pointing to that had a refrigerator blocking it from the inside, the two golden doodles that only barked once police pulled up, and why a home invader would walk past the only adult awake in the house to shoot a sleeping woman and leave without taking anything or making a single demand. Flynn has not been convicted and the case is headed to trial, but both panelists agree the 911 call is the strongest thing the state has, and one lays out exactly how he'd build an opening statement around it - every contradiction mapped onto photographs of the house while the call plays.
