Ok, I am finally going to try and learn a riff! Thankfully this one is in a common time signature.. so that's good. However, the 24 different note options really had me guessing! I hope I got somewhat close! Thanks for watching me struggle to learn Angine de Poitrine's Sarnniezz!

FYI the unedited footage was 30 minutes and I chose to cut out me tuning and some of me poking around for the notes. Hopefully that makes the video more enjoyable.

Chris's former guitar teacher (who is every bit as good a player as you might imagine) just discovered AdeP and wrote "So, I really wanted to not like this band... [but] holy shit are these guys insane. ...It's refreshing to hear something truly original in the age of boring, homogenized pop music and AI slop. I guess the moral of the story is: don't judge a book by its polka dotted papier-mache hat and two-foot nose. I'm going to go dig through some boxes of pedals and try to find my loop station and/or ring modulator." LOL! I guess they're everyone's new favorite band.

I’m born in 63’ and saw all the greatness in the 70-80’s but this is on par. New innovative genious music that I listens to every day.

A guilty pleasure of mine is to go to react channels and watch the halfway point in sarniezz where the time signature changes in the drums and just see the instant stank face.

Your next "How am I going to explain this to my wife?" purchase will be a brand-new microtonal guitar. Congratulations in advance! 😄

At 8:13, Khn restarts a riff but shifts it by one beat by pressing buttons with his foot. This gives the impression of a new riff. 🔺

I like the way you are taking this on, respect.

so many images in my head when i hear the main riff. sounds slack and drunk. sooo good

They're so tight, technically smart AND talented and it shines through that they've known each other for at least 20 of their 333 years! Really enjoying these breakdowns.

And I'm not sure if you've mentioned it/or been told previously, but Khn is also adding ghost layers at times, to trigger when needed. (Not necessarily in this song)

When this is going full tilt at the outro it just fkn rocks. 🤘
Can't wait to see em in September. ✋🔺🤚

Their song Sahardnieh plays a whole lot more with polyrhythms and cool metric modulations. It's a little less popular of a pick in their catalog, but it's fun to listen to if you're into that stuff. Highly recommend.

Bro mad props for learning the riff on a regular guitar! That whole rhythmic modulation halfway through the piece: "Yor Zarad" by the same group builds up to a massively satisfying one too :D

"Every time it loops, it makes more sense" is a great way to describe it. On the first listen it's completely opaque, where's the one, what's the key, but when the structure is "complete" it all just fits.

Excellent effort, Sir. But can you imagine how hard it was for Khn de Poitrine to learn that riff without even having someone's video to follow!

You got a music brain thank you so much

“Your playing all the wrong notes?” Reply, “I’m playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order”. Quote, Eric Morecombe U.K. comedian!
