I believe it was Mythbusters that built the door to exact specifications and recreated the situation in a giant pool, if they both got on the door they would both have been partially submerged in the icy water and thus both would have died.

The footage of titanic under the ocean is VERY real! That IS the actual Titanic shipwreck!

Jack died before any pictures. At the end, when you said they rubbed it in your face…SHE WAS DYING. On the boat. Reunited with Jack in heaven.

The flare isn't to distract people, it's to alert others in the vicinity that they're in peril and need help ASAP.

One of the most "absolute cinema" movies.

That one and A night to remember,  best titanic films. R.I.P. for those 1500 people.

It amuses me when one of the characters in the story makes reference to having seen something "at a nickelodeon" (the early 20th Century's silent movie viewing locations that were precursers to movie theaters as we know them today) but our reactor host understands it as on Nickelodeon (the TV channel).

It wasn't an issue of "not enough room" on the door, it just couldn't support the weight of two people.

Titanic was not a cruise ship it was an ocean liner. The ship was built to take people across the Atlantic Ocean from Southampton to New York. The ship transported people food cargo and mail across the ocean. The ship was more a less a fancy hotel. The trip took about 6 days on the 4th day Titanic hit a iceberg and sunk in the early morning of April 15th.

As for her reasoning for throwing the diamond in the ocean, there’s a deleted scene in which she tells Brock that all the times she thought about selling it, she wanted to make it her own way without Cals help

The director stated well after the movie was released that the reason Rose never sold or pawned the necklace was because she didn’t want the life that she would have lived with the money to have been because of Hockley. Rose didn’t want to have him to thank for anything. She threw it back into the ocean because she felt like it should have gone down with the ship, which is why she dropped it over the wreck site.

There is a deleted scene where Rose’s daughter and Lovett catch her at the back of the ship with the necklace and Rose lets Lovett hold the necklace briefly before tossing it in the ocean because he was so obsessed with finding it. It’s worth a watch but idk how I feel about it as far as being a potential ending, I kinda like that it was changed to what it was in the actual movie.

Just for clarity, Titanic was not a cruise ship.
It was a passenger ship whose entire intent was to go back and forth between England and America, transporting passengers and goods.

Titanic is my favorite movie of all time. I've probably seen it over a thousand times. I've even seen it in 3D. The reason Rose throws the diamond in the ocean is because she is putting the necklace back where it belongs and letting go of the past and Titanic. Rose does die at the end of the movie and she gets to be with Jack with all eternity and everyone else who died on Titanic. It's one of the most tragic love stories of all time. I'm glad you liked it

15:00 not the TV station Nickelodeon.  A nickelodeon at that time was a small, converted store front theater that showed silent films for a five-cent admission.

This movie is masterpiece! I loved your reaction.

It's not a cruise ship. It was transporting people and cargo from England to America. If it hadn't sank on the way there it would have made the return trip. I believe the term was ocean liner.
If she had tried to sell the diamond. Cal could have tracked her down.
700 people survived. But 1500 died.
The ship that picked up the survivors was called Carpathia. It responded to the telegraph that the Titanic's telegraph operators sent out. But it took them 4 hours to get there.

I'm always on the verge of tears when Rose goes to drop the necklace in the water, but when you brought up "if you jump, I jump", that killed me! 🤣

When he said he saw it in a nickelodeon once, he doesn't mean Nickelodeon; a nickelodeon was a movie threater back in the early 1900s where the price of admission was a nickel.

It’s ironic that we drink water to survive yet also water can kill us at low enough temperatures also by drowning at that, including who to thought that water is the main protagonist of this movie!!
