4:15 Did you seriously just think his name was Christian? 🤦‍♂️😂

His name is Robin. He is called Christian because he is a Christian, as opposed to azeem being Muslim.

Shakes head...his name is ROBIN...he is a CHRISTIAN by faith.

Alms is the giving of food, goods or money to the poor, often by a religion. Kinda like social security from the church

Forget Costner's accent, this is Alan Rickman's movie, but if you're familiar with Brian Blessed (Lord Locksley) it's a good thing his role was for one scene because there wouldn't have been anything left of the sets to film with.

Sean Connery got paid a scandalous sum for his cameo, when confronted in an interview he said that he donated it all. If you want to se them both in a great movie check out The untouchables, one of Kevin’s first big roles.

Alan Rickman basically re-wrote his lines to punch up his role in this film - and it honestly MADE the film

I worked for the sound/dialogue editors who did this movie and they were given a MESS of clips that had to be pieced together - some of which had CLEAR differences in attempts at accents (other takes had no accent) but they werent given ADR recordings to cleanly dub over the dialogue - so it's inconsistent throughout

The fact that they managed a coherent story at all through all the re-cuts and edits was a friggin MIRACLE

worth watching just for Alan Rickkman alone, but some really good action sequences as well. also Little John being my favorite character

'I'm gonna cut your heart out with a spoon!'
'Why a spoon cousin?'
'Because it's dull, you twit, it'll hurt more!' 😂😂😂

You made me facepalm so many times that i fear i have a concussion.

This was one of the top popcorn movies of the 90's along with T2 and Independence Day. Yes, it can be ridiculous, but it is so much fun!

I was 12 when I saw this movie in the theater back in 91. Even I understood at that age that was a Muslim man referring to a white man as “Christian”. Two names?

I was in high school.  It was very much a popcorn movie.  No one thought it was some serious drama.  The main thing I remember is that Bryan Adams made a song for the movie and it was played like every 5 minutes on MTV, the video included parts of the movie.

He called him Christian cause that's Robin's faith.

In the movie Robin and Marian Sean Connery played an aged Robin, with Robert Shaw as the sheriff.

Just....wow

1992 is a crazy underrated movie year compared to 1994,1999. I saw this and Terminator 2 in theaters that year and they are two of the best film experiences ever. Fun fact: Kevin Costner didn't have an English accent because he had literally just finished filming  Dancing With Wolves, which won Best Picture and Director. He immediately left to start filming this after wraping,so he didn't have time for a vocal coach. It also leads to a great joke in Robin Hood: Men In Tights, lol.

I grew up of course watching the Disney version but my father insisted I also watched this version growing up as well. Best childhood years watching Alan taking 20 minutes to die.

I adore the score for this movie!  The french horns are insane!  33:25 Because the enemy are primarily mercenaries so he hoped they'd go for the money and give them a break at the fight.

"Men In Tights" also makes a lot of references to "The Adventures of Robin Hood" (1938) starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland

The same year as "Prince of Thieves", there was another "Robin Hood" (1991) starring an unknown actress: Uma Thurman
