The Rise And Fall Of The Hotel Transylvani...

Hotel Transylvania! There's still more to cover! We may have already gone through the likes of Hotel Transylvania 1, and 2, and 3, and 4, but do you remember the short-live TV Series as well? Seemingly so poorly received, it's not even been fully rated. Even still, we're taking a dive on it. Judging season 1 by the best and worst reviewed episodes, to see what went wrong. But given how thin the main movie narratives are, maybe that's quite a low bar... Wait... There Was a Hotel Transylvania TV Series??

For context:
Aunt Lydia is Drac's older no-nonsense, Strict and bossy sister
Uncle Gene is Drac's older brother who enjoys playing video games and is very chill

Oh boy, my former studio was the one that produced this. I think I even helped out on the first episode (QA mostly).

Fun fact: we were initially told that we would be working on a "Gennedy series" and this was when the Samurai Jack Season 5 was released. You can imagine our disappointment when it turned out otherwise.

EDIT: Oh another fun fact, my department fucked up something so bad that we almost missed the delivery for this show because we had to pull staff to help with our show.

EDIT: As far as I know, the show only has Gennedy's name on it. He never gave any production notes nor ever showed up to the studio.

Huh, this series looks as if Star vs forces of evil was cosplaying Hotel Transylvania

wait WHAT?!

To me, the whole concept of the show is a slap in the face of the first movie since Mavis is supposed to be extremely sheltered and have rarely if ever left the hotel before her 118th birthday, and here she is working, going on adventures and constantly leaving the hotel. Meh

BTW there was a blue Hydra in the film. Hydras aren’t really a new species to the franchise.

I think I saw like one or two episodes of this Hotel Transylvania series and then forgot it exists.

Also reason why Drac isn't in the series is because he is on important Vampire council business that is why Aunt Lydia is handling the hotel cause he doesn't trust Mavis to not destroy it 😂

I only recall the show having aired on Disney Channel here in the USA only for it to suddenly disappear a year later (by the time Disney even finished airing Season 1, Netflix had already uploaded the entire season).
It was one of those shows that they acquired broadcast rights to here in North America, but later acted like they never wanted it.

It kinda makes no sense that the show is playing before the first movie. Because the monsters didnt know about Pop and other modern stuff before Johny (or however you spell his name) visited the hotel. I mean, like seriously: Video games, pop music, electronic guitars... thats all human stuff Drac would never have allowed in his hotel. He prefered everything to be traditional. And broooooo, that plant at 16:15 gave me total "Donkey Kong Country Returns" nostalgia.😭😭😭😂

Oh my god i havent thought of this show in years. Hotel Transylvania the series was part of my childhood. I watched a lot of these spinoff cartoon shows as a kid and i remember going over to my mom's friends house and watching this on their Netflix account (before they took it off Netflix) in their living room. I think i genuinely watched every episode multiple times and i loved it. Looking back at it now is so weird.

Please do 101 Dalmatian street please it’s long forgotten and it is on Disney and has much lore

I remember watching this. I liked "watching" shows and used them as background noise. I think I remember feeling like it was both too young and too old for me. I don't remember how old I was when I watched it, but it was when this show was on Netflix, so it feels like decades ago.
I think I found Wendy annoying, especially her voice. I thought I'd get used to it, but I never did. Yet I still watched this show multiple times. 🤦‍♀

It’s always things that I watch back in the day that I love that. That I now end up watching back now and people hate.

I watched a couple of episodes of this series once when I was in a hotel in Scotland … I remember being very confused

I argue the kid versions are left at home with a monster babysitter well the monster parents go to the hotel for second honneymoons, they had jokes about sex in the first movie

A lot of them are married couples
