Heath Ledger was BRILLIANT as the Joker. He just ate up the screen - it’s like you can’t take your eyes off him. RIP

The semi truck flip was real, no cgi or fakery. Christopher Nolan loves real effects in his movies. In “Tenet” he really blew up a big-ass 747. Dude is for real.

Joker's mind is so warped. . .I doubt he even remembers what his real origin story is.

That was a real hospital that they blew up. It was scheduled for demolition so they used it. They only got one chance.

The Joker was supposed to be the villain for the third movie, but Heath Ledger died before this one was even in theaters, and they thought it would be disrespectful to re-cast him. So, for the third movie they just don't mention The Joker. They did manage to create a very good villain for that movie as well, but it's hard to watch this movie and not want to see more Heath Ledger as Joker.

Joker telling different stories about his past is a reference to the comic Batman: The Killing Joke. In it, Joker provides a tragic explanation for how he turned to life of crime and went insane. But afterwards, he recants his story and admits that he doesn't truly remember. He ultimately says, "If I were to have an origin story, I prefer it to be multiple choice." It highlights Joker's unpredictability and how nothing he says can be trusted.

the last lines of gordon to his son with the music....chills EVERY time! 'because he can take it!' ...

Heath Leger's version of Joker is probably the greatest villain in Cinema & Tv history. Between Joker, Vader, and Hisenberg in my book

@jflaugher 2 years ago

In the comic books, the Joker once said, "When it comes to my personal history, I prefer multiple choice."

Michael Caine was supposed to have a line when Joker burst into the fundraiser.

Apparently, he was so caught off guard by Ledger's performance that he just forgot.

This movie is one gigantic climax that most films try to capture for just 2 minutes. Literally every scene the stakes get higher and crazier

I'm sure somebody already told you, but Heath Ledger won the Academy award for best supporting actor for this role!

I think most people on their first watch forget that Lao is on top of the pile of money when Joker burns it, so nice catch there.

I watched the movie multiple times, and I don't think I caught it until I saw someone point it out online. People I've mentioned that to didn't catch it either and I don't think I've seen another Dark Knight reaction video where the reactor notices it.

Heath Ledger's Joker is some of the best acting I have ever seen and I am an avid movie watcher. Rarely does someone encompass a character like Heath did with the Joker.

@apatternedhorizon 2 years ago

"some men just want to watch the world burn" exposition is one of the best in cinema of the past twenty years.

The saddest thing is Heath was only just beginning to show how versatile he was as an actor. He always had the potential, just never the chance to show what he could really do.

@johndarcangelo6893 2 years ago

4:17 thats crazy cuz when I was a kid I always identified as the villians and used to get mad when they inevitably lost. Now I admire the heroes.

This isn’t just one of the best comic book films. This is one of the best films ever made, period. Rest easy Heath. This movie wouldn’t be the same without you.
