The hate against "thin people" almost reaches a kind of incel-level... sort of...

I hate when people say “you’re gonna make someone feel bad” for before and after photos. Jesus, that’s a personal problem. Shut up and just work harder.

I'm a health care worker in emergency medicine! To answer your question:
- Something as simple as finding a vein to administer meds becomes difficult in obesity. It matters in an emergency when time is precious and you literally don't have minutes to spare.
- Obese people have a difficult airway: it will be difficult to intubate (just to physically get the tube into your throat), and it's difficult to ventilate (getting air into your lungs using a machine). We have to use higher pressures just to get air in, and this can damage the smaller air sacs
- Doing an emergency c-section is a NIGHTMARE because we have to cut through all the layers of fat (again, if the baby is in distress you really don't have time to spare). I've sprained my back assisting in a c-section because its physically taxing. Obese patients also have poor wound healing and are at risk of wound infection (which you don't want in a surgical site)
These are actual cases I've been involved in where obesity alone has to poorer outcomes. I could share a lot more but I don't want to turn this into an essay 😅 Obesity and health goes beyond just increased risk for diabetes, hypertension etc

I’m a vet tech and with the rise in human obesity, we have seen a rise in pet obesity. It’s really sad to see these animals suffer, struggling walking and breathing. On top of that, the same medical/health risks are involved. An obese pet that needs surgery will take longer to go under anesthesia and longer to recover, which raises the chance of complications. Plus, they get joint pain, diabetes, heart disease. It’s really sad when a pet is so sick they might not make it and it turns out they had undiagnosed diabetes that went untreated for so long the body starts to shut down.

the thing about kidnappers is that if you're not morbidly obese you can RUN AWAY FROM THEM.

32:33  The blatant victim blaming in this one is appalling. It is NEVER, EVER the fault of the victim if they get r-ped. And these FAs are the same women who preach being “girl’s girls” and “fighting the patriarchy.” People of all body sizes are capable of being assaulted and it is NEVER their fault, full fucking stop. I’m genuinely disgusted.

My husband is a dentist and he has told me it is harder to work on heavier patients because the excess fat in their face takes up space in their mouth leaving him less space to work in.

19:09 med student who had 3 months of mandatory nursing rotations here, when i worked in an oncology ward, we had a patient who was well over 300lb. everything was so incredibly hard to do. helping her wash herself and get dressed was unfortunately really tiring and when she got discharged, the people in charge of transporting the patient home had real trouble as well. one of my colleagues sustained an actual back injury (i believe it was a herniated disc?) helping the patient sit up. caring for morbidly obese patients is so incredibly hard on healthcare workers.

26:13 I had very severe anorexia, I HATE it when people equate just regular and healthy weight loss to anorexia symptoms. No it is not the same. Bring in a calorie deficit will NOT put you through the hell that is a restrictive eating disorder. It’s so invalidating and stupid. Ps, have fun in Japan !

My birth giver is morbidly obese and “my numbers are fine” was her excuse for all of my life (at least the 35 years I was in contact with her). Then, three years ago, my sisters told me she couldn’t get a major, necessary surgery because they couldn’t get through her neck fat. Then two years ago, she was diagnosed with diabetes and stage 4 lung cancer (she’s never smoked). She is dying years before she needs to because she refused to deal with her unhealthy eating.

I say this as someone who watches an excessive amount of true crime, that is not a normal thing to think about.

as a rape survivor that post was HORRIFYING how can you pose as a body positive activist or whatever they call themselves and then literally fantasize about someone being raped because theyre "a twig"?? these people need to be either locked up or helped

13:26 “Do you think DoorDash is natural?” 😂 They think being massive is natural and a “historically accurate” à la natural body. Saying their bodies are like those Roman statues of goddesses, like PLEEASSE stop using art as an excuse to eat a family sized pizza 🤦‍♀️

No-one owes you attraction.

Saying someone is fat phobic for not being attracted to fat people is like saying a lesbian is a misandrist.

12:19 if thin people are doing something to keep themselves thin then doesn’t it imply fat people are doing something to keep themselves fat?

Nurse story here : some people are too big to fit in/get an MRI/CT/XRay

We had a patient who fell and hit his head and we had to get him to lose weight before he could fit into the machine… in that time he could have died.

ALSO there is a sea world in my city and patients have been sent there to get imaging … not a joke

I dont post my before/afters anymore. My core group of friends just would not be able to be happy for me, and honestly, they've acted in the past like I'm losing weight "at them" and feel attacked by me talking about it. It's easy to read that and say "well then they're not really your friends," but i think its an example of just how toxic and insidious this fatlogic can be. Otherwise unconditionally supportive and loving friends are suddenly completely unable to celebrate an accomplishment because it strikes the one big, serious insecurity they have. I don't hold it against them because i was the same way when i was heavier.

That last post about rape and kidnapping is insane. I mean if I put a gun to your head and I tell you to move even if you're obese you're going to move or die

I've lost 20 pounds, 20 more to go. Staying focused with help from your videos!

Have the best time in Japan 😍✈️ 🇯🇵
