Who was Pier Giorgio Frassati, really? At first glance, he seemed like a privileged young man from Turin: the son of a powerful family, heir to an elegant world, surrounded by opportunities and comforts. But behind that facade lay a completely different life.
Pier Giorgio didn't choose to live for luxury, but for Christ. While many saw him as a cheerful, athletic young man, a lover of the mountains and his friends, he secretly roamed the streets helping the poor, visiting the sick, bringing food, clothing, and comfort to those whom no one noticed.
His family didn't fully grasp the magnitude of his charity. But on the day of his funeral, something impressive happened: a multitude of poor people filled the streets to bid him farewell. There, his true character was revealed.
In this video, you will learn about the life of Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati: the young man who had everything, but chose Christ; the mountaineer who said, “Verso l’Alto,” upwards; The joyful saint who reminds us that holiness is not sadness, but dedication, friendship, prayer, and concrete love for those most in need.
A short, intense, and luminous story that continues to speak powerfully to young people today.
Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati, pray for us.
