The friend honoring his murdered friend by traveling as they had planned is truly beautiful.

@horrortackleharry 1 year ago

To have ever had a Statute Of Limitations in place for murder is insane.

I feel so strongly for poor student B. It touched me to know he visited all the other prefectures and brought A with him in his memories.

The student updating his deceased friend on their journey BROKE ME. I don't usually cry when listining to true crime anymore but that little detail shattered my heart

The thought of the first girl, ishi, having no one else to go home to since the deranged lunatic killed her parents and grandparents really saddens me. I hope she’s doing well

@thurayya8905 1 year ago

If Hata's grandfather says he will welcome him back warmly, we can see why Hata turned out to be a murderer.

It really sucks that a bunch of these fugitives only became wanted, rather than caught (or in Obara's case, exonerated), in the first place due to police incompetence and corruption.

The scary thing is that if any of these guys somehow made it out of Japan…no one would be on the lookout because of the region locking

The men who were responsible for what happened to that young girl, Junko Furuta, barely served any time (some none at all) and still walk around free. The cannibal guy who made his own cookbook, walked around free until he finally died, may he rot in hell. Yakuza has it's fingers in everybody's pie.

By far the absolute worst part of that first story would be the decades worth of mental anguish over never truly feeling safe, not knowing whether or not your family’s assailant is lurking around a corner. Wondering if he will ever make an unexpected return to “finish the job”. Heck, not even knowing if he’s even alive still sounds mentally and spiritually exhausting. I would have found the temptation to leave the country near impossible in her position.

I hope she’s doing well and is leading a normal life, however impossible or improbable that reality may be.

Must be terrifying for the woman in the first story, knowing the guy is still out there!

Even with japans low crime rate, they have some of the most harrowing and disgusting cases ive ever heard of.

Seeing the wanted posters gave me flashbacks. I grew up in Japan and was one train stop away from being in the sarin gas bombing when I was about 6. They had the posters of the perpetrators everywhere, their faces are still seared into my memory. I was always terrified I’d run into one of them.

This video tapped into my childhood fears in a great way. Thanks for making it.

Him sending the gifts to A’s family was so sweet. That made me cry. I used to send Facebook messages to my friend that died. It’s weird thinking “one day they will see it” and they never do. He will forever be 17. I feel guilty passing him in life.

@GoofGore 1 year ago

Japan has a low crime rate because of the incompetence of the police to actually make a case 😭💀

@jessyjessy451 1 year ago

He has a habit of smelling his hands? Why does THAT make him even creepier

@de-stressify2196 1 year ago

I love episodes you cover in Japan. Because it's such a juxtaposition! Japan has such a low crime rate but the severity of their crimes are absolutely chilling.

That third guy is especially sickening. When you described his cruelty toward animals and people it made me sick to mu stomach. Horrendously evil.

"Can't see such a self-obsessed person willingly ending it all." Narcissism runs in my family, and at least two of those relatives have attempted it. One was successful. Anyone can have those thoughts.
