A manga artist, a middle-aged monster, a deranged cult leader and a real life yandere. It could only be Japan. Today we explore 4 cases from the land of the rising sun that have, until now, mostly remained in the shadows.

I've said this before and I'll say it again, having a statute of limitations for violent crimes like murders is absolutely stupid.

Obviously all the cases are bad, but for some reason the second one really bummed me out. She was just trying to have a fun night with her friends. If that first convenience store hadn't been closed, she would've gone home with her snacks just fine. Instead she (presumably) passed away, her friends lost their friend, and a mother and grandmother lost their child. So sad man.

bring back the OG intro. it doesn’t feel like lazy masquerade without it.

Nana Sakuma’s case shares a lot of similarities to Jacob Wetterling’s abduction and murder in 1989. From the man on the road and taking one child from their group of friends, I fear that her remains might’ve been buried on that same road.

I love that Lazy region unlocks these cases… no matter where you are, people are capable of some disturbing things

Nooooo the little song at the beginning of your videos is gone 😢 It’s such a nostalgic sound and it makes me happy every time. Thank you for how many years you’ve done this, one of my absolute favorite youtubers :)

Poor nana, she was just hanging out with friends, and getting food. Listening Authority is a huge thing in Japan.

The last time I was this early, Lazy Masquerade was still doing the "Scary TRUE Stories to Keep you Up at Night" series.

3:20 the home address in the pages is crazy.

With that second story, thats not a random branch.

Though they were riding bikes, that's a simple trap meant to make people stop and get out of their vehicle in remote areas, to remove the obstruction in the road. Once you've stopped you're in danger, usually for things like robberies and abductions. Instead of trying to remove the obstruction, go out of your way to move around it. If there isnt room to move around, back up and find another path to where you're trying to go. Stopping and getting out is the last thing you want to do.

Sidenote: Ah ok, so thats covered further into the video. But yea... this is a type of road trap that's been known for many decades. And no its not something that requires luck to work; if the person knows the area, they probably know how frequently that remote area is traveled and if it gets any traffic at night. It's not luck, it's patiences. Not much different than fishing; you go somewhere you know you'll find fish, you bait your line, and you wait.

The second story was absolutely painful. Please PLEASE teach your children "stranger danger" (and to look out for inappropriate behavior from non-strangers). No matter how "safe" you think your neighborhood is, you are entirely surrounded by the single most dangerous, destructive, and unpredictable predatory species this planet has ever known: Homo sapiens . That poor girl almost certainly suffered a horrific fate because her parents imbued her with the survival knowledge of a stalk of celery.

34:27 First of all, it's utterly insane to me that going home and continuing as normal never got him thrown in prison for violating the terms of his suspended sentence, but then THEY LET HIM AND HIS 'WIFE' GO HOME AGAIN, and that they were left completely unsupervised!!! They couldn't have kept a repeat offender in custody until sentencing?????

Japan seems to have so little violent crime, compared to America. But when something does happen, its usualy pretty weird.

I’m suspicious of Mr A, why inject himself into the case? It sounds like he was trying to throw the investigators off the case. Giving a false lead to chase after a red herring.

@Skarbro 10 months ago

First story, One thing I always see investigators talking about in crime scenes is when someone covers the body, especially the face, that usually means it’s personal. They can’t bring themselves to look at the deceased person’s face out of guilt, shame, or love or whatever, so they cover it. That one little detail won’t magically solve this case, but if I were investigating I would definitely be hyper focused on anyone who was family or best friends with her. 😎🤘🏻
