I have finally made my first Victorian era corset and I am LOVING IT!!! It is so much comfier to wear than my Edwardian one (granted some of that may be due to my ability improving and actually making this one better). And to complete the set I also made an absolutely adorable chemise and a fun pair of split drawers too, which means that these combined with my hoop cage and petticoat I made last year, we are now finally ready to start making the actual historical Cinderella dresses!

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to my patroen's for helping me fund this project, I am so excited to finally be making these! 🤩

They turned out so perfectly! A friendly suggestion from a Texan: I highly suggest getting blackout roller blinds for your studio. They make a huge difference in our house during the 100°f+ summers

Your desk height - I have no wish to patronise you but did you know about bed risers?

They are basically plastic cubes and come as two in a set. One each of one slightly smaller than the other that can be used singly or one on top of the other, depending on how high you might want your table. (Buy one set for each table leg).

I bought mine from Amazon in order to raise up my drop-leaf kitchen table where I cut fabric. Using both blocks under each leg raised my table to standard, UK kitchen worktop height. The table is solid oak and the risers take the weight. One of the best sewing investments I’ve made! Just thought I would mention it. Feel free to ignore!! Thank you for all you share. 😊❤

I'm excited to see how your dresses come on! the base layers are already super pretty! I thought about doing an 1812 Cinderella for Halloween this year (I was Little Red Riding Hood last year and making a cloak was the MOST fun), but I figured no one would get who I was supposed to be especially if I did the clothe of silver/clothe of gold like is described in the Grimms

the undergarments turned out soooo well. Fantastic and pretty. I suggest if you want the hip gussetts to be more pronounce, add some padding under them, to make your hips look bigger than they really are. As you know, it's all smoke and mirrors back then.

I am absolutely not a Disney princess person, however, I have always loved Cinderella's pink dress, and I am absolutely dying to see somebody do a quality make of it.

Tip from the American South: Get real curtains that can actually block out light, or dampen down those light curtains so that air has to evaporate some moisture before it can get in. It's the og air conditioner.
