They've changed hair. It's very simple. When people all of a sudden on mass or at a very concerning rate, start to react to something that they've used time. And again, it means that they 're adding in chemicals that they' re not disclosing.
several months ago, it was being reported on news that many braiding hair weaves and wigs were tested high in toxic chemicals and metal (lead). I think this might be the problem. also, I haven't seen it in the news yet, but I think all hair weaves should be tested for mites, lice, and scabies since that could be the culprit of itchiness
cause i was never allergic to ANYHTING ever until all of a sudden now im allergic to wearing certain chokers/necklaces ??? like ????? i think we gettin poisonned queens
There is a brand called REBUNDLE which is made from banana plants. It has awesome recommendations, and is black women owned & operated. I think it's definitely worth checking out. Most braiding hair comes from China & they have zero oversight for toxic chemicals. In fact they are notorious for toxic ingredients, even in their food! Stay safe, ladies. You deserve better. 💜🙏💜
I stopped wearing wigs, crochet, and braiding hair. It always made me itch, and i would break out in these rash like bumps. Now I'm back to wearing my own hair, and I'm not mad at it because my hair has flourished since then 🙃 i know what my hair needs now and it's thriving
A few yrs back i experienced an allergic reaction to Mielle products. Ladies. Patch test every thing. I think they are sabotaging us all. I dont use none of that stuff anymore because I cant trust these manufacturers
It's either the ingredients or process of making it has changed or it's allergies developed from overexposure. Over exposure allergies happen with gel polish and food too. Edit: If traditional synthetic braiding hair is affecting you, you can try brazilian wool (which is also synthetic), plant based braiding hair, or just braid your natural hair without extensions.
As an African girlie who's always seeing African Americans tell white people "them braids are not made for your scalp", i always whisper, its not made for ours either 💀 I understand allergy, but extensions in general are damaging to all hairtypes, especially if you have fine hair.
Synthetic hair is STRAIGHT CHEMICALS. There's a video on here with an Asian man showing how synthetic hair is made. Straight up chemicals are formed into strings. STOP USING THAT MESS!!!!
That’s because it’s all the synthetic hair is made of harsh chemicals and plastics, and it’s primarily made in China, where there are zero consumer protection laws or regulations. They will continue to make the hair even cheaper and more toxic as time goes on, in order to make even more profit. It’s really that simple. Back in the day, people didn’t add fake hair to their braids, and they didn’t suffer like this.
Regulations are needed for these beauty products so people aren't harmed. Clothes made of synthetic materials typically don't cause these allergic reactions so what sort of toxic trash are companies putting in synthetic hair?!? 😰
I wouldn't be surprised if because of all the duty on products that people are changing the chemicals they put in braiding hair. Or more women are speaking up now.
