in our skin any kind of reaction that leads to irritation or inflammation often results is increased pigmentation. particularly in areas with lots of movement/friction (around the mouth, under the arms, between the thighs etc) it’s how our skin responds to “injury” that’s why their lips darken when they’ve used a product that didn’t agree with them. if one of my clients asked me to how to fix it i’d probably tell them to wait for things to calm on their own, focus on hydration and do a gentle exfoliation once a week until things go back to normal
i used the dior oil a year or two ago and had no issue but like anything else it was probably reformulated with cheaper ingredients to increase their bottom line :/
Dior been having bad quality products for awhile now so I’m not surprised. I got a perfume from them years ago and it smelled so cheap. A body spray from bath & body works smells better
What's so crazy is that I have been noticing my lips becoming darker and cracked! I have used the E.L.F. lip oil and was gifted the Dior lip oil as well... I going to go back to the classic Chapstick... Also! I do exfoliate my lips every week or so, and have noticed that it does help get rid of the darker skin cells.
I was cleaning my room with this video in the background,i was wiping my dior products with regular wet cleaning wipes, tell me why my dior lip oil was everywhere..(i hadn’t worn it in ages),once i wiped the outer packaging i found my fingers to be very sticky despite me using wipes multiple times over my fingers to be to try clean it off..crazy stuff, for £30 I’d expect it to come off that way or even not be sticky,
I have two colored lips and I have been insecure about it since I was a child. I can't wear lip products because my bottom is just too light, naking the products look weird. I do feel like these women didn't do the patch test and as a result they received an allergic reaction.
Dior did a plumping effect gloss 20 years ago and I worked for their counter for a bit and got a discount. Well their foundation gave me spots and their lip gloss stung my lips and yeah I didn’t go back to any of their stuff now. I have a lip oil from a brand called Paese a Polish brand. Meant to be clean but still 1000 ingredients. Better than the dior burn though 🤭 and way cheaper. They are robbing people, these brands…
That’s why I stick to Vaseline. My lips are two toned due to multiple lip reactions from Elf, Fenty, and a couple of other brands. As much as I love lip products they always do me wrong.
I am not black but I’m half Italian with olive skin. I never used the new dior lip oil but used the plumping original one back in the dat. I honestly think I used it 3 times because it really burned me. My lips looked good but redder and were stinging so I also thought it was the plumping stuff but it was uncomfortable enough that I stopped. However I live in Belgium and the climate here is very different so I would say that it would definitely be made worse by the Sun. Also the Sun really hits so much harder than 20 years ago. Nowadays in the summer my lips feel like they’re burning if I don’t use lip sunscreen. If you can find a zinc based one even better because it will just sit on your lips while helping them to heal rather than penetrating inside your skin and causing further irritation. I hope everyone recovers from this… and that Dior will compensate. This isn’t good.
