Which Final Season Do You Feel personally disrespected you The most
Euphoria or The Boys?

nooo you're so right, they squandered the Flight 37 footage reveal so hard. that was the true smoking gun and to barely get to see Homelander's fans trying to square that horrifying footage with their support of him is so disappointing. and it just immediately got brushed off. oh the potential storyline we could have had!!

What I love is how regardless of how one feels about this show, we can all agree on Starr's performance is iconic. That man could sell rotten food to someone and they'd be convinced its real.

the show ended up as a paradox of mocking it's own identity instead of using it's original identity to mock other superhero media like what was originally intended, The Boys really just got away from itself and became self destructive. edit: the comparison to The Penguins had me thinking how The Penguins nails the character archetypes of each of The Boys perfectly lmfao

An Anticlimactic Ending is probably what Clara would have wanted

WAIT THE DOG ACTOR DIED TOO?! 😭😭😭

Its crazy how jordan and marie are both stronger than starlight and she was gaslighting them 🤦

1:11:46 I don't think I'll ever get over them canceling Gen V and they way they did Marie in Season 5 of the Boys. Pissed.

Great video!

"reports of my awesomeness have been greatly exaggerated"

BRUH, SHE WAS LITERALLY RESURRECTING THE DEAD, TF THEY MEAN? 😭

32:13 it's interesting to point out that being politician evil can absolutely end you up in nazi evil if the cards play out in a certain way. Loads of politicians treated the nazi party and other fascist parties as just another opinion instead of treating it like the disgusting piece of shit it is for the sake of democracy and respectful debating. and some even ended up in support or straight up switching sides just for money. Corporation/politician evil is only a few dollars away from turning into supporting fascism.

The Boys was not my introduction to Antony Starr. I’m from New Zealand, but have lived in Sydney Australia for most of my life. Antony played both parts of identical twins, on a beloved and very popular New Zealand show from 2005-2010 called ‘Outrageous Fortune’.

These twins are COMPLETE & TOTAL opposites, in every sense of the word. But his acting is so impeccable, you believe that these are two separate humans. One is endearing, funny, adorable and a bit of a loser. This is one of my favourite characters of all time and I’m sure he is a fan favourite. The other is cold, calculating, he has his moments but he’s selfish, ambitious and cunning above all else.

So the fact that he played TF out of Homelander does not surprise me. He is a true homegrown NZ treasure and he deserves all the recognition and everything great that comes to him. 🔥🇳🇿✊🏽

this is the best the boys video i've watched

45:44 there's no reason for Kumiko to talk like she's only ever heard tik tok videos. She wasn't deaf. She wasn't stupid. She was just mute.

38:30 It's not that we want the show to end, but for the characters' actions to have consequences. Butcher betrays the team in season 1 and they are all back together at the end of first episode in season 2, how The boys get captured at the end of S4 and then are all alive and free in the first episode, even though it was set up for Butcher to become a loose canon and is gonna be the secondary antagonist just for him to be the leader yet again. Or how Vought doesn't seem to be affected by anything they do. They always get away with it, now i know they are a big bad corporation and nothing bad ever happens to them but the public doesn't seem to care that so much shady shit has been revealed by Vought.
It was the same as S4 going in S5 of Stranger Things, where at the end of S4, literal hell spawns from the ground just for S5 to close the breach with concrete slabs.

Maeves arc was excellent. Achieves all those cynical corporate attempts at representation by deconstructing and criticising the very thing they do. It's perfect. Perfect. Down to the last minute little detail.

The show made me throw up a few times…shock value gets SO old so fast EDIT: Kripke has a thing for characters getting SA’d and there being no real impact on the story or characters in the long run, when genuinely it should reshape them. Jared Padalecki spoke about how he kept all of Sam’s trauma at the forefront of his character, from the way he reacted to loud noises to the flashbacks, to how we see the light die in his eyes then slowly come back. It’s upsetting, really, how most of his characters are met with blame instead of empathy. SA is something that changes you…Hughie being SA’d, actually all the trauma and abuse he goes through, eventually feels like Kripke and the writers are just taking their violence and desires out on him. All the characters, but if Hughie is our self-insert, what does that say about how he views US?

The Boys peaked at season 3. Seasons 4 and 5 was when it became a CW show.  (Like early Supernatural vs the final season). It made me reread the books, twice.

This is the only part I disagree with.
Firecracker’s mini arc in S5 was one of the big bright spots of the season and Valorie Curry’s performance was top notch.
The whole point of her character is that she still has some bit of humanity in her life, and she willingly threw it all away for a “god” who forgot about her the next episode.
Her Truth Bomb segment where she frames her childhood church as a “Star lighter sanctuary” and frames her pastor as a child predator is great. It’s really the only arc the entire season that was really well done.
Her death was actually the most shocking to me in the most memorable, even though it’s “tame” compared to the rest.
But that said, it does feel like another great idea that’s thrown in when it should not have been in the final season.

11:34 The plane scene is what finally got me to watch the show. I was fascinated how it was filmed almost like a dark comedy sketch but it never really hit a punchline. It's a shame the show started to crumble in season 3.

I think a perfect ending for Homelander would have been him going on a rampage and killing normal people only to lose his powers and be beaten to death by those same people, a bit like President Snow in The Hunger Games.
