The fact that a show satirizing capitalism is owned and profited by Amazon Is crazy

Hughie being sexually assaulted twice and the show making fun of it was pretty evil

The whole Sister Sage character was such a dumb idea. A person who is supposed to be the smartest person in the world is only ever going to be as smart as its most clever Writer.

Hughie being assaulted and Annie not having to really look inwards and understand that he was assaulted and him trying to make HER feeling better is awful

The entire show could be simplified with: “it’s a show made by a person with 0 social skills that thinks sex jokes and sexual assault is funny” it was a interesting twist on heroes but the lack of dept shows itself fast

They used to make fun of shit the MCU does. Now its basically pulling the same shit

In the comics Vought actually has a downfall, and is interesting because it’s not by Butcher, the boys or even Hughie’s hands it’s done by themselves. In the comics Vought is just a company it’s a very wealthy one but it’s not as powerful as the show version for a reason. They like many other company’s despite their resources are lazy they kept pumping out worst and worst supers because it was easier then actually taking the time and training them to be actual heroes. If they did then they wouldn’t need to make black noir because of Homelander unstable nature, and in turn wouldn’t make Billy go after them in the process. But no, it’s easier for them to mass produce garbage, until it all comes crashing down. Stillwell’s “bad product” isn’t a jab at homelander it’s his final words of defeat, his realization that it’s all a bad product that can’t be fixed and it destroyed what he built by his own hands, all because they kept making instead of fixing from the very beginning. That’s kinda their name Vought (bought) they bought and sold out. Unlike their show counterpart where nothing happens to them and they go forward.

I love how in a previous episode Homelander can get to space in seconds but in the final episode my car can go from 0 to 60 faster than Homelander.

The most egregious example of this show's collapse, for me, wasn't the big players.

It wasn't the lack of Gen V characters.

It wasn't the rush towards finishing this up in a way that sets up Vought Rising.

For me it was two C-level characters sniffing each other's asses for about thirty seconds in the penultimate episode or the episode before.

In a season as wildly constrained as that, there is absolutely no justifiable reason to put that in.

One big issue I have that no one talks about is WTF did the boys plan for the final fight?

They don't know that Deep killed Noir and that Soldier Boy is on ice.

So they had to go up against Soldier Boy, Homelander, Oh Father, Deep and Noir.

And for that they only brought Starlight and Butcher?
Kimiko was there too but she didn't fight, only charged up her blast.

Makes even less fucking sense that they could've brought Marie, Jordan, Sam and Emma.
But Starlight sent them away?
As if it couldn't be Hughie who drives to Canada

Hughie being assaulted in the comics wasn't just for shock value and it wasn't even a joke either. It  was one of the events that helped put a rift between annie and hughie (who's relationship was supposed be the only good thing in their lives). When finding out Annie was a supe his trauma (which went well passed what happened to robin atp) made him paranoid and insecure . There's evidence of this like when Annie tries to experiment and upon finding out the truth he uses that against her and labels her as just another degenerate supe because he learnt to become defensive as a result of not only his time with the boys but his assault.

“We’re getting you tested for every STD under the sun” horrified me when I watched the scene where Annie confronts Hughie about the shapeshifter. I’m not usually sensitive but that line was so fucked

The plot going nowhere in S3 was the beginning of the downfall for me. Completely killed my interest in the show.

It was so gross, those 2 final season's were handled like a pair of 14 yo on weed had taken over the scenario

The scene where Hughie is ranting about having been sa'd TWICE and how Annie treated him just to get the other characters side eyeing him left such a bitter taste in my mouth, it really looked like Kripke's petty response to the criticism he got about S4 and how he thought the Tek Knight scene was funny

"Sure, you were SAed by a doppelganger, but have you considered MY feelings?"
Haven't watched the series, but Annie sounds like an absolute delight.
I disagree with you that it was infidelity on Hughie's part, because he didn't know.

We see the realistic applications of running such a team in season 1. From scouting, auditions, a curated image, working with writers, dealing with team members using their powers in inappropriate ways, team members abusing power dynamics. What you truly mean is that you never saw any coordinated missions and group fight scenes.

I don’t buy Kripke's explanation about why they didn't make use of Marie, mostly because they used Ryan, who was younger and probably about as well-trained as she.

What it felt like, is that when they were writing Gen V, they had fully intended on using the kids in TB final showdown, but plans changed. Maybe it was due to a fear that most TB fans wouldn't know who these kids were, but it does seem that they could have handled that in S5 by just including them more in the story. I suspect the real reason was more mundane, like budget or working around actors' availability.

Don't say this to fans, they'll call you copium.

It's actually funny throughout 5 seasons among the boys only frenchie died while fighting HL. Seriously?
