I think we have to consider that even though she was using drugs illegally, her admitting to doctors that she abused these drugs doesn't automatically mean she's going to be punished in any way. If she came to her appointment with gear on her person- that's totally different. But it is really important for doctors to know if a patient is using, for the patients safety, and fear of punishment is the biggest reason why people stay silent. It's not their role alert authorities, especially since she claimed she'd been off them for a couple months. whether it's true or not, the important thing is if she stays off substances in the future.

dr nasif really does seem like a compassionate guy and a great doctor- i'm happy that he referred her to a psych- it shows he really cares about the wellbeing of his patients

In America its not illegal to admit usage but rather its illegal to sell or possess them without a Licensed DR prescription. A lot of Male Health Clinics are pushing boundaries now offering things like Anavar and Test to a certain top prescriptible dosage.

Looking Lauren up it says she stopped bodybuilding competitions in 2014 so if this show is from then sounds like she did stop using steroids.

Lauren Powers is 63 now and still a buff queen. Her face has changed in ways indicating continued use, but she's slimmed down a bit in her golden years. It looks like she's embracing a more casual lifestyle with golf and beach days, while simultaneously working her butt off as a fitness icon.

The legal threat to steroid users is extremely low in the US, it is extremely common/normalized. Steroid/GH abuse is sooo dangerous-the heart is a muscle, and enlarged hearts are no bueno!

I really do hate that even in the post-Swan era where the surgery shows are a little more compassionate we still have the have the occasional segment where you know for a fact they're not going to operate but the producers just went "oh go on then, lets have a little freak show, as a treat."

they should ask patients off camera about any previous use of drugs or w/e just for their own safety, so they can be completely honest without any fear of repercussion. but hey that's just me using common sense, we all know that's not happening on reality tv.

So I was a medic in the army for a hot minute. When we were deployed to Afghanistan we had soooo many dudes using steroids that ended up increasing their estrogen and they would grow fairly significant breast tissue and have a lot of pain because they didn't pair them with an estrogen blocker. This was like eleven years ago, I don't remember what type of steroid specifically it was. When I was in Germany we had a dude go into acute liver failure from steroids he got off a black market site.
