As an Aussie who played cricket my whole childhood. I find it hilarious that the bat is the focus.
Have you seen or felt a cricket ball? It’s the cricket ball coming at you is why we have to wear helmets and pads. If you’ve ever been hit by a fast bowler and cricket ball on fire, you wouldn’t give a toss about the bat.

Now we all want to see this guy hitting cricket balls with both bats.

“A cricket ball is harder than a baseball. Cricket balls are made with a cork core, tightly wound string, and a leather covering, making them denser and heavier than baseballs.”

Distance isn’t the first goal in cricket, it’s protecting the stumps and doing it in such a way that the fields men have to chase after the ball, so you can get more runs.

seeing a cricket bat swung like a baseball bat is so cursed lmaoo

You won't get the luxury of standing and hitting straight down the ground every time. The variation of bounce, swing, seam movement, wind, speed and pitch conditions, make batting an art form and endurance of entertaining skills.

In cricket, a ball not bouncing off the pitch and comes through around waist height like a baseball, is called a "full toss." It's one of the easiest bowls to hit out of the park.

Hilariously, you said you'd like to see someone like Don Bradman using a baseball bat, Don Bradman famously practiced batting using a cricket stump.  Which is basically a 1 inch completely cylindrical stick of wood.   It was like batting on super-hard mode.  Probably one of the reasons he was so good as an actual batsman was he was dead fucking accurate with his placement on the bat.

Also, he was batting ~90 mph balls, which is similar pace as the speed of a fast-bowler bowled ball.

A cricket ball getting bowled at you at 90mph is terrifying

The purpose of cricket is not to smack the ball into the bleachers every single time. A baseball batter's ideal is to face a single pitch per inning and smack it into the stands. A cricket batsman wants to stay there as long as possible. The longest innings in Test cricket by number of balls faced (ie pitches sent to the batter in a single inning) was 847 balls and took 13 hours of playing time.

Guy tries a bat from one of the oldest, surviving, organised sports and says, "I didn't know they would know how to make decent bats!!"

You don't hold the bat like that 🤯 Freaking me out here 😂😂😂

As a child, Don Bradman practiced hitting a golf ball with  a cricket stump against a water tank.  I think he could hit almost anything with anything in his day.

In Australia 174 people have been killed when hit by a Cricket ball and we aren't a large population.

People like to talk about Bradman with baseball, but there is a cool story about him.  When Bradman was in his 50's and involved in adminstration for Cricket Austtalia, he passed 2 national under 19 fast bowlers who asked him to face a few  balls.  Bradman, with no pads, bo box, no gloves, wearing business clothes, smacked the living shit out of every delivery, years after he retired.  Legends never die.

Use a tennis ball for your first game with Tyler, it won't hurt much,  depending on were Tyler gets hit 🏏🥴

In the late 80’s American basketball stars toured Australia to promote baseball
I took my son to meet them and get autographs
He has been a fan since
He love American football as well and has been to America many times to see both live.

Aussie here, girlfriends son got baseball scholarship from Aus institute of sport. Went to college in USA. Just missed out on getting into a league. Came home, he’s been a baseball coach on weekends for kids , for years here in Australia. I watched him play one local game here, I had no idea what was what lol 🤪😊

I'm Australian and found this fascinating to watch.

A Cricket ball is also made of Leather and come in 3 colours Red used in TEST Cricket played in Daylight, White for 20/Twenty and one day Internationals and Pink for day night Matches for both test and 20/Twenty and one Day internationals in Australia

As much as his stance hurts my soul this would be really fun to see a baseball player pull out a cricket bat in a not so serious game maybe a charity game where you can be abit silly! Iv never watched a baseball game but id watch that one
