If they made this a prequel of how Maui became a demigod it would have been so much better

i too call my siblings "lil sis" and "big sis" and never use their names.

@Lexxulv 1 year ago

So are we not gonna talk about how this “little sis” was literally conceived in the first movie when Moana went on her journey because they feared she would die and still would need a new chief😭

My main issue with this movie is that they suddenly seemed to have all this knowledge about their voyaging history out of nowhere. In the first film they seemed to have forgotten their voyaging routes now they have stories, history, images, rituals, titles, and ceremonies. Where was it before?

I only have ONE question!

If they've all been living on the same island for generations, how can they have wildly different accents???

@TheLoud_Mage 1 year ago

"That's why i pay you the big bucks!"
"what big bu--"
"shut up!"
Disney's entire business in three lines😂😂

it took like 2-3 songs, 3 ghosts visits and a vision for Moana to finally get off that island. I was constantly "yeah, so just leave already!". wouldn't have been surprised to also see Mufasa make a "Remember who you are" speech.

Imagine if when Moana got struck by lightning and saw the ghost dude he was like “This is the afterlife, you’re dead because you got struck by lightning”

@Iamtheoriginal-Mvp 1 year ago

Moana's parents made a sibling thinking moana is dead af .. harsh reality ☠️

I legit walked out of the theater and said "So she's just GOOGLE MAPS NOW?!?!"

I wish the bat lady was actually just manipulating Moana and was the villain the whole time. but that beautiful character only got like 10 minutes of screentime

Ngl “Mo-wanna be’s” is kinda clever and got a chuckle out of me

Moana's sister is the first time I've noticed a sibling getting added purely to sell merch. I pictured the children going like this: "Moana has a sibling? I'VE got a sibling! If I buy their dolls I can be just like Moana!"

This should've stayed as a tv series. I honestly see the potential and could possibly reach the same love as Tangled the series

@Only.Dennis 1 year ago

The bat lady’s song made no sense because she sings about not needing maps and finding your own way, but like… she’s a wayfinder..? Isn’t that literally what she already does?

@LivingFire_BurningFlame 1 year ago

The fact that Moana 2 was originally meant to be a TV show is giving me flashbacks to those Disney direct-to-video "movies" that have three episodes in them. Belle's Magical World, Atlantis: Milo's Return, etc.

Lin Manuel Miranda not being involved should have been the first sign of its quality.

As an animator who is struggling to survive right now, I appreciate you talking about this subject. Thank you for seeing us. Thank you for caring.

14:32 Honestly, when I first saw the boat on the horizon when they are like “oh there’s more people now!” I couldn’t help but think of a British colonial ship coming along, so they got what they asked, it’s just the literal worst option they could’ve wanted.
