I can't wait for the Gaston prequel, where it transpires that he hates smart women because his mother was killed by a bookshelf.

“I always wanted a brother.” Taka, both your parents are still alive. They can solve that problem without having to adopt Mufasa.

I like how Mufasa is an African lion with a Californian accent.

Mufasa not coming from royalty basically contradicts his character in the original. When him and Simba are looking among the stars, he talks about the great kings that came before him and how they are always with them. Way to go Disney

I find it hilarious how every time Disney makes a new version or something of the Lion King. They change how Scar got his Scar. Like, in the Lion Guard, he got it from snek. In the books. He got it from buffalo. Now he gets it from Lion. There just running through a list of African animals at this point. Soon it will be the African giant earthworm or something.

also can we talk about how hard it is to distinguish the lions? it took me at least 10 minutes to associate the slightly different colors to the characters

When you know Taka means trash. You really question the amount of love his mom and dad actually had toward him

The best CGI realistic ever done is still Aslan in The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe. He looked amazing and when he spoke he still looked like a lion. They did more subtle movements with him. It even aged pretty well compared to many others done like that. Also, his character worked being a Jesus allegory to be more stoic and reserved which fit more being anthropomorphized as a lion.

What I find hilarious about this movie since the movie ends by revealing that Kiara has a little brother, Rafiki was supposedly telling this story about Mufasa and Scar so Kiara could learn some message about being a good sibling, but like, what’s the message here? Don’t steal your brother’s gf or else they’ll throw you off a cliff?

We already had a Lion King prequel, it’s called The Lion King 1 1/2

“He was singing that song for years” referencing Simba’s montage was genuinely pretty funny

the fact that Disney LIED that this movie was "#1 in the world" when Sonic 3 was making TWICE as much in theater really killed all interest I had in ever watching this movie, which was already nearly non-existent lol

@Im_A_Silly_Guy_89 1 year ago

Fun fact this movie doesn’t actually work in the lion king lore because there was an old Disney channel show from like 2015 called the lion guard or something and in the show they actually show a family tree of the pride and we can see it dates back like at least 10 generations so this movie makes no sense!

16:12 Mufasa:"There will be no more kings we are all equal, you will all be treated fairly "

Also Mufasa: "I'm going to be king with my brother by my side and banish all the hyenas"

I refused to watch this movie, because OG Lion King and Lion Guard made it clear that Scar and Mufasa were blood brothers and that Scar was younger which is why Mufasa became king. I don't know why they had to change the story line. they could have chosen to do a prequel where Taka was jealous of his place as second born and tried to over throw Mufasa, killing the lion guard in the process.

I know it's been said a million times but I truly miss the old Disney's animated films. There was a magic in those animated films that I doubt live action movies can re-create.

I'd just like to acknowledge that the bad guy's super evil catch phrase is

make you go bye bye

11:00 As a Swahili speaker, milele isn't a land, magical or otherwise. It's a word meaning Eternity. Just a corny way of Disney using vocabularies from languages that most Americans don't speak 😂😂😂
