Robin Williams was such a big part of my childhood growing up, truly one of kind.

we miss you robin :'(

The reason they went back in time's explained. When judy reads the "adventurers beware" line it says when the game is won, every impact the game had gets undone and the most critical one was alan getting sucked in. But the game left them with the memories, so alan was able to reconcile with his father, his parents living, the shoe factory stays, and alan and sarah could save judy and peter's parents.

I just realized that the kid basically gets isekai'd into a board game offscreen for 26 years

One of my favorite Robin Williams films when I was growing up, the world is lesser for his passing. As for why time went back at the end; the rules said that all consequences of the game would be undone once the game was finished, which includes any changes the game caused on the world or their lives. So it rewinds time to the beginning of the game to undo everything that happened as a result of the game starting, like Alan being stuck inside it for 26 years or Sarah becoming a shut in.

Also you may not have noticed, but Alan's father and the hunter Van Pelt were played by the same actor in the movie. Van Pelt (and his constant hunting of Alan) was basically a manifestation of Alan's fear of standing up to his father brought to life by the game.

I remember when I first watched this movie, I was afraid of buying the board game at Toys R Us because I thought all that crap was gonna happen to me.

43:35 "A hoonter must hoont."

Fun fact: Jonathan Hyde, the actor playing Van Pelt the hunter, also plays Alan's father (Sam Parrish) in this movie.

Excellent, you watched the true Jumanji not the fake Jumanji! 🤪

o7 Robin Williams

Also I recommend Zathura: A Space Adventure as it's like Jumanji.

One of my favorite Robin Williams movies, it's a classic.

I miss Robin Williams. Great actor, great guy.

Fun fact: Robin Williams named his daughter Zelda because he use to like playing legend of Zelda games in fact he and her daughter participated in legend of Zelda commercials you can find them here on YouTube.

Good Morning, Vietnam!

25:13 Before Alan was sucked into the game, the game said, “In the Jungle you must wait until the dice read 5 or 8.” That means when another player rolls the dice and gets a 5 or 8 Alan comes out of the game. Peter rolled a 5 which summoned the lion but also freed Alan from the game at the same time.

* inhales * LET'S GO!

13:42 Correct 😄

56:55 Like what Van Pelt (the Hunter) said here, he could’ve shot/killed any one of the other players, but because Alan rolled the dice that summoned the Hunter, the Hunter is only going after Alan.

Jumanji was one I remember seeing in the theater, it was amazing! They have a couple of sequels and one spiritual successor.

With Halloween coming up, I can't wait for some potential flicks you could jump into.

Technically, the "monsoon" here is more like a hurricane. A monsoon is more of a climate phenomenon where the winds reverse for a lengthy period and can cause wet or dry periods, but they are seasonal periods. The storm here is violent and brief, which is more in line with a hurricane
