5:57- They weren't missiles, they were suicide pilots, flying intentionally into US ships.

India fought on the side of Allies with the British, Very Brave Soldiers.

The Sikh regiment received more medals than all of the commonwealth countries combined. Huge contribution to the war, many heroic actions. Warriors to the end 🎖️

Kamikaze weren't bombs, they were Japanese pilots who used their planes (and attached weapons) to fly into our ships on purpose killing themselves in the process.

Just for your education USSR is not only Russia there was 15 republics but the most casualties was made by Russia, Ukraine and Belarus

My Grandfather was in WW2 and told me a lot as a child about the war . I always studied it and to this day remember him telling me you will never know unless you were there and I hope it never happens again . Great reaction guys

Over 2.5 million Indian soldiers fought in WW2, as the British Indian Army. 87,000 were killed and are counted with the British deaths.

That was an excellent video. It was made more impactful by watching the girls’ reactions—fear and shock and confusion that we feel, too.

Good job to show the younger once all this. Everyone should do this for a better world. Thank you :face-red-heart-shape:
Greetings from Germany to you guys :hand-pink-waving:

Japan was on its way to 🇮🇳 India, my old neighbor Lee Gephart flew supplies over the Hump to supply British/Indian Forces fighting in Burma/IndoChina, these terms/nation no longer are.

So basically, that was Germany vs USSR war with a bunch of spectators.

im glad they want to learn , also many INDIANs  fought with the allies ....... they need to be remembered too

No more brother wars. An entire generation of Europe's best and brightest were lost.

this man  , i would love to talk with im for hours....... the ladies are also very open to learn...... great people ....... im a 65 year old CANADIAN  and i gave a LIKE to this  show.

70 Million is the low end, 85 Million is the high number. So, 77.5 Million (775 lakhs) is the average. My grandfather fought the Japanese in the Pacific theater, he was on the USS Colorado.

I am an Indian from WB specifically. My great Grandfather was in the British army posted in Chittagong. He flew missions against the Japanese.

For Every soldier who carried a weapon and fought there were 10 soldiers supporting them from the Rear.

I really appreciate the perspective your channel brings to me as a Westerner because coming from an education system that probably focuses on this specific event more so than any other in terms of history, it's really jarring to hear how little informed people from other countries are of it outside of the Western sphere, given how WWII might be the single most important event in World History (especially India, given how your own troops were used on behalf of the British army at the time). So thank you for that. You were actually closer with your initial guess of 1 Billion at the beginning of the video (the real figure is like 3% of the world's total population at the time).
Some history pointers around it though:
-Stalin, believe it or not, was actually one of Hitler's earliest idols whom he looked up to for inspiration, such as Stalin's pogroms being Hitler's inspirations for his dictatorial persona.
-Germany had made a pact of non-aggression with Russia at the time to not attack it while it ravaged the rest of Europe so long as Russia stayed out of their conflict. But Hitler, being the greedy bastard that he was, got overconfident from his early success in conquering Europe at the beginning of the war and decided to try and take Russia too, unleashing the Russian War Machine on him forcing him to fight on two opposite fronts during the war, overstitching and overtaxing the German army. (Yeah. I too am astonished at how on earth Russia has ANY population presently from that time period. It's like they repopulate like ants)
-Japan at the time was also a racial-supremacist country against its Asian neighbors. Hence why they mirrored what Germany was doing to its European neighbors and was the second highest ranking Axis Power of their alliance.
-Given the numbers of the Holocaust is precisely why the newly formed UN decided to allot the Jewish people the state of Israel in order to allow for them to repopulate their numbers from that atrocity on their ancestral homeland.
-This war's casualty numbers is also why Poland has some of the strictest border and immigration policies on earth. They understand the importance of why.
-Also, the reason that the US and USSR became enemies post-WWII was for economic political differences; The US wanted to push capitalism around the world whereas the USSR wanted to push communism instead.

9:28 - Hitler always had the plan to invade Russia/Soviet union because of the "Lebensraum" concept of Nazi Ideology. The communism was also the enemy for nazi ideology. Hitler only form an alliance with Stalin before the invasion of Poland to prevent a two front war. His plan was to beat Poland and then knock France and the UK out of the war. (initially he hoped that France and UK wouldn't declare a war against Germany for the invasion of Poland).

People from India fought for the British as part of the United Kingdom. They fought in North Africa, East Africa, Italy, Burma, Malaya, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Troops from India also fought battles on the eastern border of India. Troops from India also secured the middle east.
There were even troops from India at the evacuation of Dunkirk May of 1940.
