I WAS SOLD THIS AUDI IN GOOD FAITH... BUT THEY HID AN EXPENSIVE PROBLEM.

The Logbook

We bought a CHEAP AUDI SQ5 and pretty quickly, things started going wrong.

At first, it seemed like a great find... but now we’re wondering if the seller knew something and just didn’t say a word.

Was it a simple case of bad luck, or did we just walk straight into a VERY EXPENSIVE MISTAKE?

3 grand for the sensor and 400 quid to calibrate it just so the car brakes by itself, it would be cheaper to crash

Did he put the milk in first? That’s a crime against humanity! 1:59

Excellent video Rob. It does appear that the world is a lonely place for honest people, what does that say about the society we live in?
But perhaps, now, you have a bit more empathy for those of us on the other side of the coin

Been there. There are people who can re calibrate. It does cost.

They 100% knew that fault was there.
Nice fix Rob, just as well u have the network of trade contacts.

FYI.
I wouldn't pressure wash those radar units or parking sensors.⚠️

Days are gone of general public not knowing anything about cars. You're right to be suspicious at every trade in. Horrible as that is to say. With tech in these cars becoming silly expensive you'll have to up the trade in game im afraid. Buying scan tools like your mate has maybe a great investment to save you £3k on a sensor later down the road.

Good luck with the TT, off to grab me some tickets.

appreciate the honesty by advertising through all these videos that no one should ever buy a car from you.

The positive you can take from this. The customer bought a car from you just to get working cruise control 😆 🤣 😂

ACC only needs the car parked 1.2m from a wall no mirror or pattern board needed. (You also need VCDS / ODIS, or similar), for LKA you just need to set up dynamic calibration which does it automatically as you drive. You can also buy the radars 2nd hand and remove component protection (we use the official VAG ODIS for £10hr access). So no need to spend 3-4k for this.

£3400 ,id rather press the brake pedal myself ,😅😅😅 course they knew you've been tuck up 😮

@stefantrzoska 6 months ago

Nicely done, the last audi i drove with adaptive cruise control required a subscription to activate it .

From my experience, I find brake assist alarming. Reversing up my drive if its windy the moving bushes trigger it n slam brakes on, also driving up a ramp to go on eurostar...repeatedly emergency braked, you can keep that tech😅
