This is the shortened version :(, the audio version is 6 minutes long with a more emotional and higher pitched second verse

This song is a former spy thinking back about his old family and his life with his loved ones that are now left behind.

Guys, I can assure you this movie is not about what happens to the family of the protagonist (Ranveer Singh) shown in the visuals. It is about the cost (loss of families - plural is deliberate) paid by the protagonist for a higher purpose. The movie is about that higher purpose - the country. In this song, without giving spoilers, I can only say the protagonist is coming to terms with the sacrifice he has made and is emotional about it.

You guys missed the whole middle section with his high notes. This isn’t the full song but I like how he was explaining it with the piano

Actually all songs are unique.Movie is not only box office hit but all the songs are also amazing.
Arjit's voice along with melody  and sitar just touched our heart.🥰

I love how my people (Indian audience) suggesting more to them like watch this and that Arijit has more to offer vice versa and also showing love for our music ❤ I just love this man..

This movie is actually a two part. Netflix has the first one if you would like to watch.

This song is where he returns to his home - after being a spy for a long time (you see him burning the photos) - he wants to go and talk to them but watches from a distance and they are happy in their lives.  He walks away. Same with his love of his life - wife and child, who he has to leave as his cover as a spy is blown.

Phir se Naina mere - talks about tears in his eyes and how the eyes long to meet his ‘people’ and how he is alone again though he achieved so much for the country but personally he is hollow.

side Note : Arijit announced that he won’t be singing anymore (not clear if it is just movies or general)

Dhurandhar 1 and 2 are the best Indian war/ spy movies ever made. Elite music and performances 🎉❤ think zero dark thirty meets Scarface. All true events too. Amazing performances and singing

Arijit's singing is a cinematic tour de force. People go to the theatre to feel the impact he intensifies the emotions and feel like no one else. Everyone cried as the hero has to abandon his near and dear ones as a spy. ❤❤

This song is based on the raag jhinghoti and is the raag used in many Kishore sad songs. I guess it is a tribute to Kishore by the director and the music director to their favourite songs.

You'll hear beauty of veena with outstanding vocals

Amazing that you were able to distill out the hollowness being projected… that’s the whole soul of the song context

You guys are so sweet and beautiful from your heart. I can understand that because you love music. Music is part of our nature. It means you are Nature lover. 🙏🙏
