Disney understand Evil.
They're just not allowed to portrait their Bosses and their CEO

Disney went from having Villains that were evil to being evil themselves. That is the issue.

Jack Horner is absolute cinema. "i was raised with a loving family, a mansion, and wealthy pie industry. Worthless crap like that."
"you're not gonna shoot a puppy, are you jack?" "ye, in the face, why?"

Disney can't understand evil because they are too close to the problem

I feel like the most horrifying thing about death is that in all the trailers hes basically just portrayed as another enemy that goes after puss and not once shows puss being afraid when running into him which is why his movie appearance hits so deep, even when you thought you knew so much about him from the trailers, your just as horrified for Puss as he is upon finding out the reveal that he is just death, straight up.

Another reason Death hits so damn hard is even when he lets Puss 'live his life'; he reminds him that they WILL meet again. He reminds him that it will be inevitable, that he still cannot escape. And why we're left with him whistling one last time, but it sounds lighter, while the previous whistles were meant to be a threat, a warning, an omen.

At this point, I think Death is THE pinnacle of 'Unstoppable Force' Villain/Antagonists. And every one after this will be compared to him.

Same with Jack Horner, damn.. Last Wish really set the bar for villains, didn't it?

2:38 I wanted to say this is exactly what Oogway said in Kung Fu Panda 1: "One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it."

"WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THISSSS...I MEAN WHAT DID I DO SPECIFICALLY TO DESERVE THISSSSSSSSSSS" 😭

0:21 Ken's reaction is extremely valid, he lost his girl to a BEE and he is the only sane character in the entire movie

12:24  Literally all the had to do was marry Anna and hang out in luxury for the rest of his life. So dumb.

The last wish had 3 different types of villains: the redeemable ones (goldilocks and the bears), the irredeemable one (jack horner) and the understandable villain (death), all of which were written beautifully

Honestly, I blame the mindset 'a villain needs to be sympathetic in order to be good. They need an understandable motivation, or other wise they're uninteresting and flat' that popped up during the 2010. Sometimes a villain being a complete bastard because they enjoy hurting people can be just as interesting. And tragically relatable for the times we find ourselves in.

2:40 what I love about Shen sealing his fate when he murdered all the pandas is that it correlates perfectly with Oogways quote of "One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it"

Aged like fine wine

12:52 Hans wasn't evil until the magical trolls sing "get the fiancé out of the way and the whole thing will be fixed".

They want villains they can later turn into their own spinoff movies, and sell merchandise.

They turned a villain that killed puppies to make expensive clothes into one

I would also argue that Dreamworks has a practice in making Villain Protagonist movies.

Shrek, Megamind, Monsters versus Aliens, Bad Guys...

Disney: "You, the audience, are evil. You think, speak, and act incorrectly, and here's another movie telling you why."
Also Disney: "Why didn't you watch the movie?"

I kinda wish Maleficent was just a really law-abiding fey. Which means she'd absolutely curse baby Aurora without batting an eye. Feys are really petty like that.

Lady Eboshi from Mononoke Hime is the perfect example of an antagonist that is really trying to protect her people
