think the alchemist gave him all that weaponry cause they really thought they could control him. they wanted to use him as a weapon, keeping his "instincts" in his ergo, but probably hoping to get rid of his memories, which clearly didn't work out
He has such a cool design, for me he is pretty inspired by the look of salvador dali, with the moustache, the big eyes and the hair. It's really sad that we didn't get his coat and top hat as an outfit
A lot of this is stuff I knew, but seeing HOW MUCH skin is actually on him after he goes second phase is what really blew my mind.
The implications of that are just... absolute insanity. The idea that he completely skinned someone and melded their skin onto his frame like he was just putting on a costume... It's completely in character, horrifying, and I absolutely love it. Congrats. You somehow managed to get me to love this boss even more than I already do
The documents and journal found on the ship where Arleccino was held kinda implied that alchemists gave him basic body with some capabilities. He made it himself after breaking free from the cage. He is an artist after all, meaning he is creative in his own ways. He likely found some stuff in labs/prison to increase his arsenal. He is alive too, just in another way)
1:26 I think it is a obvious. He is meant to be a weapon. He is not a maid or helper puppet. Where he is sent only blood flows. As he mentioned. The alchemist only bore him. He was probably sent many times to clean up. But he had too easy job since no1 can survive him beside Lea and P.
I actually wanna add to this that I don't think arrlo's skin is actually from any victim of his but is actually maybe some sort of artificial skin give to arrlo so the alchemist could awaken his ego by making him resemble more of his old human self. It's kinda similar to p's own skin. If it was a person who arrlo skinned alive then I would assume the flesh would look more necrotic like nameless skin is like, all purply
I'd to call the red energy the Red ergo. We knew there were blue and golden ergo, so why not a red one. We saw this red ergo going on with the nameless puppet. And with the description of its amulet suggesting, the red ergo might be hatred.
Favorite boss and possible character in the entire game for me. The voice actor did an fantastic job aswell as the designers of his model. Especially his second phase is so incredible creepy and haunting looking, it reminds me alot of the intro scene of terminator 2 or the nightmare of john connor in terminator 3 where one of the terminators looks directly at the camera.
Could be inspired by this as the last scene of the phase transition cutscene shows his creepy terminator skull directly walking into the camera. Overall i love the idea of him being a psychopathic serialkiller-terminator. Im currently in NG+ and i cannot wait to see him again.
I believe he made some of the modifications to himself after slaughtering the alchemists keeping him captive using their equipment. He may also have taken the flesh of one if these alchemists.
It's also possible that the alchemists put the skin on him so he'd have an easier time blending in once they set him loose (I'm pretty sure in lore arlecchinos escape was planned in some sense by Simon or Geppetto) and that the reason he's got bits missing is that he ripped them off to look scarier.
